Setup and Assembly

Before beginning assembly, ensure all parts are present and accounted for. It is recommended to assemble the bed with at least two people. Clear a spacious area for assembly.

Required Tools (Not Included):

• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Allen Wrench (often included with hardware, but a personal set can be helpful)
• Rubber Mallet (optional, for gentle tapping)

Assembly Steps:

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches. Verify all hardware and components are present against the parts list (refer to included assembly diagram).
2. Assemble Side Rails and Footboard: Connect the side rails to the headboard and footboard using the provided bolts and nuts. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten until the frame is squared.
3. Install Center Support Beam: Attach the center support beam(s) to the frame. This provides crucial support for the slats and mattress.
4. Attach Hydraulic Mechanism: Secure the hydraulic lifting mechanism to the bed frame according to the diagram. Ensure the pistons are correctly oriented for smooth operation.
5. Place Slats: Lay the wooden slats across the bed frame. Many slats are connected by a strap; ensure they are evenly spaced. Secure them to the frame if attachment points are provided.
6. Install Upholstery Panels: If the bed includes separate upholstered panels for the base, attach them as per instructions, often using velcro or clips.
7. Final Tightening: Once the entire frame is assembled and squared, go back and fully tighten all bolts and screws.

Operating Instructions

Using the Hydraulic Storage System:

1. Clear the Bed: Ensure there are no items on the bed that could fall off when the mattress is lifted.
2. Lift the Mattress: Grasp the designated lifting handle or edge of the bed frame (usually at the foot end). With a firm and steady motion, lift the mattress platform upwards. The hydraulic pistons will assist in the lifting, making it relatively easy.
3. Access Storage: Once lifted, the mattress platform will stay in the raised position, providing full access to the storage compartment underneath.
4. Lower the Mattress: To close, gently pull the mattress platform downwards. The hydraulic system will control the descent, preventing it from slamming shut. Ensure no hands or objects are in the way as it closes.

Important: Do not attempt to lift the mattress platform by yourself if it feels too heavy. Always use the designated lifting points. Avoid placing excessive weight on the lifted platform.

Maintenance and Care

Upholstery Care:

• Regular Cleaning: Vacuum the fabric regularly using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and debris.
• Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild fabric cleaner specifically designed for upholstery. Test on an inconspicuous area first. Do not saturate the fabric.
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading of the fabric.

Frame and Hydraulic System:
