Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (marked with a power symbol) to turn the device on or off.

2. Optical Power Meter Function (OP)

  1. Connect the fiber optic cable to be tested to the OP port.
  2. Press the OP button to activate the optical power meter.
  3. Use the Wavelength (λ) button to cycle through the 10 available test wavelengths (850nm, 980nm, 1270nm, 1300nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, 1550nm, 1577nm, 1625nm, 1650nm). Select the appropriate wavelength for your measurement.
  4. The measured optical power will be displayed on the screen in dBm.
  5. Press the REF button to set the current power reading as a reference value for relative measurements.

3. Red Light Source Function (RL)

The 650nm red light source is used for visual fault location and continuity testing.

  1. Connect the fiber optic cable to be tested to the RL port.
  2. Press the RL button to activate the red light source.
  3. Observe the fiber for any visible light leakage, which indicates a break or fault. The red light can penetrate long-distance fibers for quick continuity detection.
