Setup & Initial Use (Candle)
- Unpack: Carefully remove the candle from its packaging.
- Placement: Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable materials, children, and pets.
- First Burn: For the first burn, allow the candle to burn until the entire surface of the wax has melted to the edge of the vessel. This typically takes 2-4 hours and helps prevent tunneling.
- Wick Trimming: Before each subsequent burn, trim the wick to 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). This ensures a clean burn and prevents excessive soot.

Operating Instructions (Candle & Planter)
Candle Use
- Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Always keep the burning candle within sight.
- Discontinue use when 1/2 inch (1.2 cm) of wax remains to prevent heat damage to the vessel or surface.
Repurposing as a Planter
- Clean the Vessel: Once the candle has completely burned down and cooled, remove any remaining wax and wick clip. Wash the ceramic vessel thoroughly with warm, soapy water to prepare it for planting.
- Add Soil: Fill the clean ceramic vessel with a suitable potting mix.
- Plant Seeds: Open the included non-GMO Sage seed packet. Sprinkle the seeds evenly over the soil surface and lightly cover them with a thin layer of soil (approximately 1/8 inch or 0.3 cm).
- Water: Gently water the soil until it is moist but not waterlogged.
- Placement for Growth: Place the planter in a location that receives 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth.

Maintenance
Candle Care
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and other debris.

Candle Issues
- Tunneling: If the candle is burning down the center, leaving wax on the sides, ensure the first burn melts the wax to the edges. Subsequent burns should also allow the wax pool to reach the edges.
- Low Flame/Soot: Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use. A longer wick can cause a larger flame and more soot.
Plant Issues
- No Germination: Ensure seeds are planted at the correct depth, kept moist, and receive adequate warmth and light. Germination times can vary.
