1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your GGM Gastro OFM1 Cooking Oil Filter. This unit is designed to extend the lifespan of cooking oil by effectively removing sediment, carbon deposits, fatty acids, and other undesirable elements, thereby maintaining optimal oil quality for commercial frying applications.
2. Safety Instructions
Read all safety instructions carefully before operating the appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the appliance is connected to a grounded power outlet with the correct voltage (220-240 V / 1N/PE / 50 Hz). Do not operate with a damaged power cord or plug. Keep electrical components dry.
- Hot Oil Hazard: Always exercise extreme caution when handling hot cooking oil. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including heat-resistant gloves and eye protection. Allow oil to cool to a safe handling temperature (below 60°C / 140°F) before filtration, if possible, to reduce burn risk.
- Stability: Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, level surface. The wheels are for mobility; secure the unit before operation.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning. Use only recommended cleaning agents and methods.
- Authorized Personnel: Only trained and authorized personnel should operate and maintain this equipment.
- Intended Use: Use the appliance only for its intended purpose of filtering cooking oil. Do not use it for other liquids or purposes.

4. Setup
Follow these steps to prepare your GGM Gastro OFM1 for initial use:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the oil filter from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
- Component Check: Verify that all components are present, including the main unit, filtration hose, and the initial set of 5 filters.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean all surfaces that will come into contact with oil using a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely to prevent contamination.
- Filter Installation: Open the lid of the unit. Install a new filter into the designated filter housing according to the markings. Ensure it is seated correctly to prevent bypass.
- Positioning: Place the unit on a stable, level surface near the fryer. Ensure there is adequate space for operation and maintenance.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to a suitable grounded electrical outlet (220-240 V / 1N/PE / 50 Hz).
5. Operating Instructions
The GGM Gastro OFM1 utilizes a Feiyue pump for efficient oil transfer and filtration. Follow these steps for safe and effective oil filtration:
- Prepare Fryer: Ensure the fryer is turned off and the oil has cooled to a safe handling temperature (ideally below 60°C / 140°F). Remove any large food particles from the fryer oil.
- Position Filter: Roll the OFM1 unit close to the fryer.
- Drain Oil: Place the filtration hose nozzle into the fryer's oil drain valve or directly into the oil if the fryer does not have a drain valve. Ensure the hose is securely positioned to prevent spills.
- Start Filtration: Turn on the GGM Gastro OFM1. The Feiyue pump will begin to draw oil from the fryer, through the filter, and into the unit's reservoir. Monitor the process to ensure smooth operation.
- Return Oil: Once the oil has been filtered into the OFM1 reservoir, position the return hose (if applicable, or use the pump to transfer) back into the clean fryer. Activate the pump to transfer the filtered oil back into the fryer.
- Shut Down: Once all oil is transferred, turn off the OFM1 unit. Disconnect the power supply.
- Clean Hoses: Clean the filtration and return hoses immediately after use to prevent oil residue buildup.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your GGM Gastro OFM1.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, clean the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Wipe down the hoses and nozzle.
- Filter Replacement: The unit comes with 5 filters. Replace the filter regularly, depending on the frequency of use and the condition of the oil. A clogged filter will reduce filtration efficiency and put strain on the pump. Always use genuine GGM Gastro replacement filters.
- Deep Cleaning: Periodically, perform a deep clean of the internal reservoir. Disconnect power, remove the filter, and thoroughly clean the interior with a suitable degreaser and warm water. Rinse and dry completely.
- Pump Inspection: Regularly inspect the Feiyue pump for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure connections are secure.
- Storage: When not in use, store the unit in a clean, dry place.
