3. Setup & Assembly

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. Two adults are recommended for safe and efficient setup.

3.1 Base Assembly

  1. Place the base on a flat, level surface.
  2. Attach any support plates or triangular reinforcement components to the base using the provided hardware. Ensure all screws are tightened securely.

3.2 Pole Assembly

  1. Connect the pole sections according to the numerical order or specific markings. Ensure they click into place or are secured with the designated fasteners.
  2. Attach the assembled pole to the base. Use the provided bolts and nuts, ensuring a tight and stable connection.

3.3 Backboard and Rim Attachment

  1. Attach the rim to the backboard using the provided hardware. Ensure the double compression springs are correctly positioned.
  2. Secure the net to the rim.
  3. Attach the assembled backboard and rim to the top pole section. This step often requires two people due to the weight and size.
  4. Verify all connections are secure and the backboard is level.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Base for Stability

The base must be filled to ensure stability and prevent tipping. It can hold up to 243 lbs of sand or 168 lbs of water.

  1. Locate the fill cap(s) on the base.
  2. Carefully fill the base with either water or sand. Sand provides greater stability and is recommended for outdoor use or windy conditions.
  3. Ensure the base is completely filled to its maximum capacity.
  4. Securely close the fill cap(s) to prevent leakage.

4.2 Adjusting Height

The FREEYARE basketball hoop offers 16 adjustable height levels, ranging from 4.9 ft to 10 ft, suitable for various ages and skill levels. The quick adjustment mechanism allows for changes in approximately 5 seconds.

  1. Step 1: Locate the adjustment handle on the main pole. Press the adjustment handle firmly.
  2. Step 2: While holding the handle, slide the pole up or down to the desired height. The system features three poles for 8.5-10 ft heights and two poles for 4.9-6.2 ft heights.
  3. Step 3: Release the adjustment handle once the desired height is reached. Ensure the pole locks securely into place before use.
