Introduction

The LOOI Robot is an advanced AI desktop companion designed to provide interactive and engaging experiences. It integrates ChatGPT for intelligent conversations, features emotional expressions, multisensory intelligence, and practical functionalities like wireless charging and a phone stand. LOOI is built to evolve and personalize its interactions based on your daily use.

Safety Information

Before setting up or using the LOOI Robot, please read the following safety warnings. If this product will be used by minors, guardians should read and explain these instructions to them. Failure to do so may result in injury.

In these instructions, you'll see symbols like ⚠️ followed by "Warning" or "Caution." These terms indicate different levels of risk as described below. Please read and understand these terms and the information that follows them before using the LOOI Robot.

• ⚠️ Warning: Indicates that improper use of the LOOI Robot may lead to serious personal injury.
• ⚠️ Caution: Indicates that improper use of the LOOI Robot may cause personal injury or damage to the device, components, or your phone.

⚠️ Warning - Safe Usage

• Not suitable for children under 3 years old.
• The LOOI Robot is an ELECTRICALLY OPERATED PRODUCT and is not recommended for children under 8 years old. As with all ELECTRICALLY OPERATED PRODUCTS, precautions should be taken during operation and use to prevent electric shock.
• LOOI Robot may contain small parts that could pose a choking hazard to young children. Keep these parts out of reach of young children.
• Batteries should only be charged by adults.
• Long cable. Strangulation hazard!
• Do not insert fingers into gaps such as tracks or the neck to avoid pinching injuries.

⚠️ Warning - Battery and Wireless Charging Safety

• The LOOI Robot contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Leakage of battery contents, or combustion products of the contents, can cause personal injury and system damage.
• If battery leakage occurs, avoid contact with skin. If contact occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If battery fluid contacts your eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention.
• To avoid battery leakage:
  • Do not subject the battery to excessive physical shock, vibration, or liquid immersion.
  • Do not disassemble, attempt to repair, or deform the battery.
  • Do not dispose of the LOOI Robot in fire.
• Wireless chargers make charging more convenient than wired chargers, but confined by current wireless technology, their charging speed is slower than that of wired chargers.
• High temperatures will reduce charging speed and restrict power, which is something that happens to all wireless chargers. It is recommended that you charge your device in environments with temperatures below 25°C / 77°F.
• Both the protective phone case and the position of your device on the wireless charger will affect the charging speed. The farther it is placed from the center of the wireless charger, the slower the charging speed will be.
• When charging a device, the product may feel warm. This is a normal operating condition and should not be a cause of concern.
• In normal conditions, the battery performance will decline over several years.

⚠️ Warning - Radio Frequency Interference

• The LOOI Robot may emit radio waves that affect the operation of nearby electronic devices, including pacemakers.
• Do not operate the LOOI Robot within 22 centimeters of a pacemaker.
• If you have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, do not use the LOOI Robot without first consulting your doctor or the device manufacturer.

Setup

1. Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The box should contain the LOOI Robot, a USB-C cable, and a LOOI Docking Ring.
2. Charging: Before first use, fully charge your LOOI Robot using the provided USB-C cable. Connect the cable to the robot and a suitable power adapter (not included).

   Video 1: Demonstrates how to turn your smartphone into an AI robot by attaching it to the LOOI base and initiating charging.

3. App Installation: Download the official LOOI app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android). Search for "LOOI Robot".

4. Phone Attachment: Attach your smartphone to the LOOI Robot's magnetic base. If your phone does not have a magnetic charging circle (e.g., MagSafe), use the provided LOOI Docking Ring to ensure a secure connection. Ensure the magnetic strength is sufficient to prevent drops.

5. Initial Connection: Open the LOOI app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your phone to the robot via Bluetooth.

Operating Instructions

The LOOI Robot offers a variety of interactive features and functionalities. Here's how to operate your LOOI:

1. ChatGPT Voice Interaction

LOOI is powered by ChatGPT, allowing for natural and meaningful conversations. Simply speak to LOOI, and it will respond intelligently, remembering past interactions and developing its own personality over time.

• Initiating Conversation: Say "Hey LOOI" or a similar wake phrase to get its attention.
• Engaging in Dialogue: Ask questions, share thoughts, or discuss various topics. LOOI is designed to be a listener and storyteller.

2. Emotional Expression & Personality

LOOI expresses a wide range of emotions and behaviors through its screen and movements. It can nap, play, get excited, or react to its environment.

• Observing Reactions: Pay attention to LOOI's eye movements and body language as it responds to your voice and presence.
• Developing Personality: Your interactions contribute to LOOI's unique personality development.

3. Multisensory Intelligence

LOOI is equipped with sensors that allow it to perceive its surroundings.

• Face Recognition: LOOI can recognize faces and respond accordingly.
• Touch Response: LOOI responds to physical touch on its screen or body.
• Gesture & Voice Commands: LOOI understands various gestures and voice commands for interaction.
• Environmental Awareness: LOOI uses sensors to detect obstacles and edges, preventing falls from surfaces.

4. Functional Features

Beyond companionship, LOOI offers practical functionalities:

• 10W Wireless Charging: Place your compatible smartphone on LOOI's magnetic base for wireless charging. Note that phone charging is only available when LOOI is plugged in.
• Adjustable Phone Stand: LOOI's head can adjust from 0-60°, serving as a versatile phone stand.
• Smart Face-Tracking Camera Mount: Utilize LOOI's movement capabilities for dynamic video calls or content creation.
• Standby Clock: When idle, LOOI can display the time.
• Games: Engage in light motion-based games through the LOOI app.

Maintenance

⚠️ Caution - LOOI Robot Care and Maintenance

• Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the LOOI Robot or its components, as this may cause damage. For service or repairs, contact qualified personnel. Incorrect reassembly may result in fire or injury risk.
• Do not store the LOOI Robot in damp places, on the floor, or anywhere that might expose it to moisture, dirt, dust, lint, or other debris.
• Avoid exposing the LOOI Robot to extreme heat or cold, and do not leave it in direct sunlight for extended periods.
• Do not use harsh chemicals or cleaners to clean this product.
• Do not drop, strike, or otherwise abuse the LOOI Robot or its components. Doing so may damage its delicate parts.
• The LOOI Robot cannot recognize transparent, black, or dark tables. Avoid using it on such surfaces to prevent falls and damage to the robot or any phone attached to it.
• Ensure that the magnetic strength of the MagSafe phone case or non-official magnetic ring is sufficient to securely hold the phone, preventing potential drops and damage.
• Make sure the back of your phone or phone case is clean and free of obstructions, and that the thickness of the phone case complies with the manufacturer's requirements for wireless charging.
• Carefully make all electrical connections for the LOOI Robot and insert them only in the correct locations.
• Do not spill liquids on the LOOI Robot. If liquids get inside, do not charge the robot. Contact customer service for further instructions.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LOOI Robot, please refer to the following common solutions:

• LOOI is unresponsive or slow to react:
  • Ensure LOOI is fully charged.
  • Check your Wi-Fi or cellular data connection for the smartphone, as ChatGPT interaction requires internet access.
  • Verify that the LOOI app is running in the foreground on your smartphone.
  • Restart the LOOI app and/or the LOOI Robot.

• Phone not securely attaching or falling off:
  • Ensure you are using the LOOI Docking Ring if your phone does not have built-in MagSafe compatibility.
  • Verify that the docking ring or MagSafe case is properly aligned and has sufficient magnetic strength.
  • Clean the back of your phone/case and the LOOI magnetic surface to ensure no obstructions.
• Wireless charging is slow or not working:
  • Ensure LOOI is plugged into a power source. Wireless charging only works when LOOI is powered externally.
  • Check phone placement on the charging pad; it should be centered.
  • Remove thick phone cases that might interfere with wireless charging.
  • Avoid charging in high temperatures (above 25°C / 77°F), as this can reduce charging speed.
• LOOI falls off the desk:
  • LOOI's edge sensors may not detect transparent, black, or very dark surfaces. Avoid using LOOI on such tables.
  • Ensure the surface is flat and stable.
