Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Generic remote control for the INNOVA Sleep System Essence CFA04R1Y adjustable bed base. Please read this guide thoroughly before use to ensure correct functionality and to prevent potential issues.
Important Compatibility Note: This remote control is not universal. It is designed to work exclusively with specific control box models, including MACB0030, C144980C180229, and C121480C180036A. Verify your existing control box model to ensure compatibility. If your control box model is not listed or if you are unsure, please consult the seller before attempting to pair or use this remote.
Setup
1. Battery Installation
The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the cover downwards or press the latch to open it.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.

2. Pairing the Remote Control
To establish communication between the remote control and your adjustable bed base, follow these pairing steps:
- Ensure the remote batteries are functioning. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure the power cord of your adjustable bed base is securely plugged into a powered electrical outlet.
- Press and hold the HEAD UP and FOOT UP buttons on the remote control simultaneously.
- While still holding these buttons, also press and hold the blue button located on the control box cord (under the bed) until you hear two (2) beeps.
- Release all buttons. The remote control is now paired with your bed base.

Operating the Remote Control
Familiarize yourself with the buttons on your remote control to operate your adjustable bed base:

- HEAD UP / HEAD DOWN: Adjusts the head section of the bed upwards or downwards.
- FOOT UP / FOOT DOWN: Adjusts the foot section of the bed upwards or downwards.
- FLAT: Returns the bed to a completely flat position.
- M (Memory): Activates a pre-set memory position. (Functionality may vary based on bed base model).
- Light/Massage Icon: Activates or deactivates the under-bed light or massage function, if available on your bed base model.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
If the remote control becomes unresponsive or its range decreases, it may be time to replace the batteries. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for detailed instructions.
Cleaning
To clean the remote control, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.
Troubleshooting
- Remote Not Responding:
- Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace with new AAA batteries if necessary.
- Ensure the bed base is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
- Attempt to re-pair the remote control following the "Pairing the Remote Control" instructions in the Setup section.
- Limited or Intermittent Functionality:
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the bed base's receiver.
- Verify that the remote control is compatible with your specific bed base control box model (e.g., MACB0030, C144980C180229, C121480C180036A). Incompatibility is a common cause of issues.
