Installation Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to replace your oven's bake heating element. It is recommended to take photos of the existing wiring before disconnecting anything for easier reassembly.

  1. Disconnect Power: Locate your oven's circuit breaker in your home's electrical panel and turn it OFF. Verify power is off by attempting to turn on the oven.
  2. Access Oven Interior: Open the oven door. Depending on your model, you may need to remove oven racks to gain better access to the bake element.
  3. Remove Old Element:
    • Locate the screws holding the bake element in place at the back of the oven cavity. Remove these screws.
    • Carefully pull the element forward a few inches. This will expose the electrical terminals.
    • Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the old element. It is advisable to use needle-nose pliers to gently pull the wire connectors off. Do not let the wires retract into the back wall of the oven. You may need to temporarily secure them with tape or clips.
  4. Install New Element:

    • Connect the electrical wires to the terminals of the new heating element. Ensure connections are firm and secure.
    • Carefully push the new element into position, ensuring the terminals slide into their respective openings in the back wall of the oven.
    • Align the mounting bracket of the new element with the screw holes.

    • Secure the element with the screws removed earlier. Do not overtighten.
  5. Test Installation: Restore power to the oven at the circuit breaker. Set the oven to a bake cycle and observe the element. It should begin to heat and glow red.
  6. Final Check: Once the element is confirmed to be working, turn off the oven and allow it to cool before closing the door completely and resuming normal use.

Operation

The bake heating element operates automatically when the oven is set to a bake function. It is responsible for generating the heat required for baking. The oven's thermostat controls the cycling of the element to maintain the desired temperature.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your bake heating element.
