1. Product Overview

The BALDR Model 341B is a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer and weather station designed to provide accurate temperature and humidity readings, along with a weather forecast, time, and date. It supports up to three remote sensors for monitoring different locations.

2. Setup

2.1 What's in the Box

2.2 Battery Installation

Main Display Unit: Insert 2 x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the back of the main unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-).

Remote Sensor: Insert 2 x AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the remote sensor. Ensure correct polarity (+/-).

2.3 Initial Setup and Sensor Pairing

  1. Insert batteries into the remote sensor first, then into the main display unit.
  2. The main unit will automatically search for the remote sensor signal. This process may take a few minutes.
  3. Once connected, the outdoor temperature and humidity will appear on the main display. If the connection is not established, press the 'CH' button on the main unit to manually search for the sensor.

2.4 Placement

Main Display Unit: Place the main unit indoors on a flat surface using its integrated stand or mount it on a wall using the hanging hole. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.

Remote Sensor: Place the remote sensor outdoors in a shaded, dry location, protected from direct rain and sunlight, to ensure accurate readings. The maximum transmission range is approximately 100 feet (30 meters) in open air. Consider locations like a patio, garden, or under an eave.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Display Overview

The main display shows indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, time, date, day of the week, and a weather forecast icon. It also indicates MAX/MIN records and temperature trends.

3.2 Setting Time and Date

Press and hold the 'SET' button to enter time setting mode. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust values, and 'SET' to confirm and move to the next setting (e.g., 12/24 hour format, hour, minute, year, month, day).

3.3 Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)

Press the '°C/°F' button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.

3.4 Alarm Clock and Snooze Function

To set the alarm, press the 'ALARM' button. Press and hold 'ALARM' to enter alarm setting mode. Use '+' or '-' to adjust the alarm time. When the alarm sounds, tap the top button to activate the snooze function for an additional 5 minutes of sleep.

3.5 Backlight Operation

Tap the top button of the main unit to activate the backlight. The backlight will automatically turn off after 120 seconds to conserve battery power.

3.6 MAX/MIN Temperature Records

The unit automatically records the maximum and minimum indoor/outdoor temperatures and humidity for the day. Press the 'MAX/MIN' button to view these records. Press and hold 'MAX/MIN' to clear the records.

3.7 Weather Forecast

The weather station provides a 12-24 hour weather forecast based on atmospheric pressure changes. The forecast is indicated by graphical icons (e.g., sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, snowy).

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries in the respective unit (main or sensor). Use new alkaline batteries for optimal performance. New batteries typically last 4 to 6 months.

4.2 Cleaning

Clean the display unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surfaces.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No outdoor temperature reading or intermittent signal:
    • Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted in both the main unit and sensor.
    • Relocate the main unit or sensor closer to each other.
    • Reduce obstacles between the main unit and sensor (e.g., thick walls, metal objects, electronics).
    • Press the 'CH' button on the main unit to manually re-sync with the sensor.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings:
    • Ensure the sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
    • Allow the units to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after setup.
  • Display is dim or blank:
    • Replace the batteries in the main unit.
  • Clock time is incorrect:
    • Manually reset the time and date using the 'SET' button.
