Operating Instructions

General Operation

  1. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or held.

  3. To start the grinder, slide the power switch forward. For continuous operation, push the front of the switch down to engage the lock-on feature.
  4. Allow the disc to reach full speed before making contact with the workpiece.
  5. Apply light, even pressure. Do not force the tool. Let the grinder's speed do the work.
  6. To stop the grinder, release the slide switch. If the lock-on feature is engaged, push the rear of the switch to release it, then release the switch.
  7. Wait for the disc to come to a complete stop before setting the tool down.

Grinding Techniques

Hold the grinder at a 15-30 degree angle to the workpiece for optimal material removal and control. Move the grinder back and forth across the surface to ensure even wear of the disc and to prevent overheating.

Cutting Techniques

When cutting, use a thin cutting disc and hold the grinder perpendicular (90 degrees) to the workpiece. Make shallow passes, gradually deepening the cut. Ensure proper ventilation and spark deflection.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your angle grinder.

  • Cleaning: After each use, clean the tool with a soft, damp cloth. Use compressed air to clear dust from ventilation openings. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Carbon Brushes: Periodically inspect the carbon brushes for wear. Replace them when they are worn down to approximately 1/4 inch (6mm) or if the motor performance decreases. Refer to a qualified service technician for brush replacement if unsure.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, cuts, or fraying. Replace damaged cords immediately.
  • Accessory Inspection: Before each use, inspect grinding and cutting discs for cracks, chips, or excessive wear. Replace damaged or worn accessories.
  • Storage: Store the grinder in a dry, secure location out of reach of children and away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
