5. Installation (Setup)
The KEMXUDEL TOB1Z-63 circuit breaker is designed for easy installation on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Ensure all safety precautions are followed before beginning installation.
5.1 Pre-installation Checks
- Verify that the power supply to the circuit is completely disconnected and locked out.
- Confirm that the circuit breaker's specifications (voltage, current, poles) match the requirements of your DC electrical system.
- Inspect the circuit breaker for any physical damage. Do not install if damaged.
5.2 Mounting on DIN Rail
- Hook the top edge of the circuit breaker onto the top lip of the 35mm DIN rail.
- Press the bottom of the circuit breaker firmly until it clicks into place on the DIN rail. Ensure it is securely fastened.
5.3 Wiring Connections
Connect the DC input and output wires to the appropriate terminals. The terminals are typically marked with '+' and '-' for polarity, and '1' and '3' for input, '2' and '4' for output. Refer to the markings on the device for correct polarity and connection points.
- Loosen the terminal screws.
- Insert the stripped ends of the DC wires into the corresponding terminals. Ensure proper polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Tighten the terminal screws securely to prevent loose connections, which can cause overheating or arcing.
- Double-check all connections for correct polarity and tightness.

6. Operation
Once installed and wired correctly, the circuit breaker is ready for operation.
6.1 Switching On
- Ensure all downstream loads are in a safe state (e.g., turned off or in standby).
- Push the yellow operating levers upwards to the "ON" position. The circuit breaker is now closed, and power is supplied to the protected circuit.
6.2 Switching Off
- To manually disconnect power, push the yellow operating levers downwards to the "OFF" position.
6.3 Automatic Tripping
The circuit breaker will automatically trip to the "OFF" position if an overcurrent (overload or short circuit) occurs in the protected DC circuit. This is its primary safety function.
- If the breaker trips, investigate the cause of the overcurrent (e.g., faulty appliance, short circuit in wiring).
- Do not attempt to reset the breaker until the fault has been identified and rectified.
7. Maintenance
The KEMXUDEL TOB1Z-63 circuit breaker requires minimal maintenance. Regular visual inspections are recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Periodic Inspection: Annually, or more frequently in harsh environments, visually inspect the circuit breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: If necessary, gently clean the exterior of the circuit breaker with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure power is disconnected before cleaning.
- Terminal Tightness: Periodically check the tightness of the terminal screws to ensure secure electrical connections.
- Replacement: If the circuit breaker shows signs of damage, frequent tripping without an apparent fault, or fails to operate correctly, it should be replaced by a qualified electrician.
8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your circuit breaker.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit breaker trips frequently. | Overload on the circuit, short circuit, faulty appliance, or incorrect breaker rating. |
|
| Circuit breaker does not reset. | Persistent fault (overload/short circuit) still present, or internal damage to the breaker. |
|
| No power to the circuit, but breaker is ON. | Loose wiring connection, fault upstream of the breaker, or internal breaker failure. |
