1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Paoweric 48V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery. This battery is designed for various applications including solar energy storage, off-grid power systems, golf carts, and marine/RV use. It features a Smart 200A Battery Management System (BMS) with touchscreen display and mobile app control for real-time monitoring and remote management.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, serious injury, or death.

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during installation and maintenance.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Do not expose the battery to fire or extreme heat.
• Ensure proper ventilation around the battery.
• Keep the battery away from children and pets.
• Do not disassemble, puncture, or damage the battery.
• Observe correct polarity during connection.
• The battery features intelligent protection against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, and short circuits. It also includes low-temperature cut-off for charging (at or below 0°C) and high-temperature limits (at 70°C) to protect battery integrity.

5. Setup Instructions

5.1 Physical Installation

• The battery can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The rack mounting brackets are removable to save space if stacking multiple units.
• Ensure the installation area is well-ventilated and within the specified operating temperature range.

5.2 Electrical Connections

• Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery to your inverter or charge controller using the provided 6-gauge jacketed leads. The terminals are M8 type.
• The battery features double terminals for parallel connections. Ensure proper wiring for parallel expansion.
• The built-in 125A breaker must be in the 'ON' position for the battery to supply power.

5.3 Communication Setup

The battery supports RS485, CAN, RS232, and Bluetooth communication protocols. It is compatible with various inverters on the market.

• Inverter Communication: Use the appropriate communication cable (provided) to connect the battery to your inverter. Refer to your inverter's manual for specific communication port requirements.
• App Control: Download the Paoweric mobile app to monitor and control your battery in real-time via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

• To power on the battery, ensure the 125A breaker is in the 'ON' position. The touchscreen LCD will illuminate.
• To power off, switch the 125A breaker to the 'OFF' position. This will cut power to all components, including the display.

6.2 Monitoring and Control

The battery features a touchscreen LCD and a mobile app for comprehensive monitoring and control.

• Touchscreen LCD: Displays real-time data such as voltage, current, temperature, State of Charge (SOC), and individual cell voltages. It also provides a battery switch function to turn charging/discharging on/off.
• Mobile App: Connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for remote monitoring and control. The app allows you to view detailed battery parameters, including individual cell voltages and temperatures, and adjust inverter protocols.

6.3 Charging and Discharging

• Recommended Charge Current: 20A (0.2C).
• Max Continuous Charging/Discharging Current: 100A.
• Temperature Protection: The BMS will automatically cut off charging if the temperature is ≤0°C (32°F) and stop discharging if the temperature is ≤-20°C (-4°F). Charging will resume when the temperature rises above 0°C (32°F).

7. Maintenance

• Regularly check all electrical connections for tightness and corrosion.
• Keep the battery clean and free from dust and debris.
• Store the battery within the recommended temperature range of -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F) when not in use for extended periods.
• Avoid fully discharging the battery for prolonged periods to maximize lifespan.

8. Troubleshooting

The Smart BMS provides intelligent protection features. If the battery is not operating as expected, check the following:

• No Power/Display Off: Ensure the 125A breaker is in the 'ON' position.
• Charging/Discharging Cut-off: Check the battery temperature on the LCD or app. Charging is disabled below 0°C (32°F) and discharging below -20°C (-4°F).
• Over-current/Short Circuit: The BMS will automatically protect against these conditions. Disconnect the load, resolve the issue, and restart the battery.
• Low State of Charge: The LCD display will show a red indicator and a 'Recharge Battery' warning when the SOC drops below 20%.

Paoweric provides a 5-year warranty for all batteries when used correctly in accordance with the manual instructions (non-human caused damage).
