3. Setup Guide

3.1 Initial Setup

  1. Unpack the Camera: Carefully remove the camera and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Power On: Connect the provided power adapter to the camera's power port and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The camera will power on and initiate its self-test.
  3. Download the App: Search for the "Hawkray Camera" app (or the app specified in the camera's packaging/QR code) on your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android) and install it.
  4. Register/Log In: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to register a new account or log in if you already have one.

3.2 Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Add Device: In the app, tap the "+" icon or "Add Device" to begin the pairing process.
  2. Select Camera Type: Choose the appropriate camera type, typically "Smart Camera" or "Wireless Camera".
  3. Network Configuration:
    • Ensure your smartphone is connected to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi network you intend to use for the camera.
    • Enter your Wi-Fi network password when prompted by the app.
  4. Scan QR Code: The app will generate a QR code. Hold your smartphone screen approximately 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in front of the camera lens until you hear a confirmation sound from the camera, indicating successful scanning.
  5. Connection Confirmation: The camera will attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, the app will confirm the successful addition of the device.
  6. Name Your Camera: Assign a name to your camera (e.g., "Living Room Camera", "Baby's Room") for easy identification.

3.3 Micro SD Card Installation (Optional)

To enable local video storage, install a Micro SD card (up to 128GB, not included).

  1. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the camera (refer to the product diagram if available).
  2. Gently insert the Micro SD card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
  3. In the app, navigate to the camera settings and format the Micro SD card for optimal performance.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live View and PTZ Control

Access the live video feed and control the camera's movement through the Hawkray app.

  • Open the Hawkray app and select your camera from the device list.

4.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the app for firmware updates. Keeping the camera's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance and security.
