Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the pitcher, lid, and one PUR PPF900Z filter. Dispose of packaging materials responsibly.
2. Filter Preparation
- Remove the PUR filter from its packaging.
- Submerge the filter in cold water for 15 minutes. This helps to remove any air bubbles and prepare the filter for optimal performance.
- Rinse the filter under cold tap water for 10 seconds.
3. Filter Installation
Insert the prepared filter into the designated slot in the pitcher's reservoir. Push down firmly to ensure a secure, LockFit™ seal. The filter should sit snugly in place, preventing unfiltered water from bypassing it.

4. Initial Use and Flushing
Fill the pitcher with tap water. The first two pitchers of filtered water may contain carbon dust; this is normal and harmless. Discard the first two pitchers of filtered water or use them for watering plants. Your pitcher is now ready for use.
Operating Instructions
1. Filling the Pitcher
Open the large fill door on the lid and fill the pitcher with cold tap water. The semi-translucent body allows you to easily monitor the water level. Close the fill door once filled.
2. Pouring Filtered Water
The pitcher features a stay-tight lid and an ergonomic handle for comfortable pouring. You can pour water even while it is still filtering. The pour spout cover helps prevent odors and particulates from entering your water.

3. Filter Change Light
Your pitcher is equipped with a Filter Change Light located on the lid. This light will turn red when it is time to replace the filter, typically after filtering approximately 40 gallons of water or every two months, whichever comes first.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Pitcher
The pitcher and lid (excluding the filter) should be hand-washed regularly with mild detergent and warm water. Do not wash the filter with soap. Rinse thoroughly. Do not place the pitcher or lid in a dishwasher.
2. Filter Replacement
Replace the PUR filter when the Filter Change Light turns red, or approximately every two months, or after filtering 40 gallons of water. Follow the "Filter Preparation" and "Filter Installation" steps from the Setup section for replacing your filter. Always use genuine PUR PPF900Z replacement filters.
