4.2. Installing Griddle Insert
- After installing the flavorizer bars, place the full-size griddle insert directly onto the grill grates or in place of a section of your cooking grates, depending on your grill model's design.
- Ensure the griddle is stable and level before use.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Using the Griddle
- Preheating: Turn on your grill burners to a medium-low setting. Allow the griddle to preheat for 10-15 minutes to achieve an even cooking temperature.
- Cooking: Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the griddle surface before placing food. The large cooking surface is ideal for preparing multiple items simultaneously.
- Grease Management: The integrated grease trough helps prevent flare-ups by directing excess grease away from the burners.
- Handling: Use the provided silicone anti-scald gloves when handling the hot griddle or other hot grill components. The custom handles on the griddle facilitate easy movement when cool.

5.2. Benefits of Flavorizer Bars
The porcelain steel flavorizer bars offer several advantages:
- Corrosion Resistance: Designed for enhanced durability and resistance to rust.
- Flare-up Reduction: They prevent grease from dripping directly onto the burner tubes, significantly reducing flare-ups.
- Burner Protection: Shields the burner flames from direct contact with food drippings, prolonging burner life.
- Even Heat Distribution: Helps distribute heat more evenly across the cooking surface.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your griddle and flavorizer bars.
6.1. Griddle Cleaning
- Allow the griddle to cool down completely after use.

- Wipe the non-stick surface clean with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, use warm soapy water and a non-abrasive scrubber.
- Dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
6.2. Flavorizer Bar Cleaning
- Ensure the flavorizer bars are adequately cooled before handling to prevent burns.
- Remove the flavorizer bars from the grill.
- Scrape off any accumulated grease or food particles. A stiff brush can be used.
- Wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry completely before returning them to the grill.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, review the following common solutions:
- Uneven Heating: Ensure flavorizer bars are correctly seated and burners are clean. Check for proper gas flow to all burners.
- Excessive Flare-ups: Verify flavorizer bars are in place and clean. Reduce the amount of fat in food or trim excess fat before cooking.
