1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the AUBKN PTC-150B Portable Electric Space Heater. This manual provides important information regarding the safe operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new heater. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

This compact and portable electric heater is designed for indoor use, offering adjustable heating settings, a built-in thermostat, and remote control functionality for enhanced comfort and convenience.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions before using this heater.
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug the heater when not in use.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • This heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • The heater is equipped with an automatic shut-off function in case of accidental tipping.
  • Overheat protection will automatically shut off the heater if it becomes too hot.

  • Power Button: Turns the heater ON/OFF.
  • Heat Level - / Temperature - Button: Decreases heat level or target temperature.
  • Heat Level + / Temperature + Button: Increases heat level or target temperature.
  • Timer Button: Activates and adjusts the 12-hour timer.
  • Mode Button: Cycles through heating modes (Low, Medium, High, ECO).
  • Digital Display: Shows current temperature, timer settings, and mode indicators.

5. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heater and all packaging materials from the box.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) of clear space around the heater to allow for proper airflow and to prevent fire hazards. Do not place it on soft surfaces like rugs or carpets that could block the air intake.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord directly into a 120V AC, 60Hz wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
  4. Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

6. Operating Instructions

Power ON/OFF

  • Press the Power button on the control panel or remote control to turn the heater ON. The digital display will illuminate.
  • Press the Power button again to turn the heater OFF. The fan will continue to run for a few seconds to cool down the heating element before shutting off completely.

Adjusting Heating Modes

Press the Mode button on the control panel or remote control to cycle through the available heating modes:

  • Low Heat (700W): Provides gentle warmth for smaller areas or energy-saving operation.
  • Medium Heat (1000W): Offers moderate warmth for general use.
  • High Heat (1500W): Delivers maximum heat output for rapid warming of larger spaces.
  • ECO Mode: The heater automatically adjusts its power output (700W, 1000W, or 1500W) to maintain the set temperature, optimizing energy consumption.

Setting the Thermostat

In any heating mode, use the + or - buttons on the control panel or remote control to set your desired temperature. The heater will cycle ON and OFF to maintain this temperature.

Timer Function

The heater features a 12-hour timer. Press the Timer button on the control panel or remote control to activate the timer. Each press will increase the timer setting by 1 hour, up to a maximum of 12 hours. The heater will automatically turn off once the set time has elapsed.

Remote Control Operation

The included remote control allows you to adjust all settings from a distance. Ensure the remote is pointed towards the heater's display for optimal signal reception.

  • Power Button: Turns the heater ON/OFF.
  • +/- Buttons: Adjusts temperature or heat level.
  • Mode Button: Cycles through heating modes.
  • Timer Button: Sets the auto-off timer.

7. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper storage will help maintain the performance and longevity of your heater.

  1. Cleaning: Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse the heater in water.
  2. Air Intake/Outlet: Periodically clean the air intake and outlet grilles with a vacuum cleaner brush attachment to remove dust and lint.
  3. Storage: When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your heater, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
