4. Setup

1. Ensure your hair is clean, dry, and detangled before use.
2. Plug the appliance into a suitable electrical outlet. The dual voltage feature (100-240V) allows for international use with an appropriate adapter (not included).
3. Press and hold the power button to turn on the straightener.
4. Select your desired temperature setting using the temperature controls. The digital display will show the selected temperature.
5. Allow 15 seconds for the appliance to reach the set temperature.

Temperature Settings:

The Quico straightener offers 5 precise heat settings to cater to various hair types:

• 300°F (150°C): For thin, soft, colored, or damaged hair.
• 340°F (170°C) - 375°F (190°C): For normal or healthy hair.
• 410°F (210°C) - 450°F (230°C): For thick, textured, or harder hair types.

The temperature memory function will automatically set the device to your last used temperature when powered on.

Straightening Hair:

1. Section your hair into manageable strands using the provided hair clips.
2. Take a small section of hair (approximately 1-2 inches wide).
3. Place the hair between the heating plates, close to the roots.
4. Gently clamp the plates and slowly glide the straightener down the hair shaft from root to tip.
5. Repeat until the desired straightness is achieved for that section.
6. Continue with remaining sections.

Curling Hair:

1. Section your hair into manageable strands.
2. Take a small section of hair.
3. Place the hair between the heating plates, close to the roots.
4. Clamp the plates and rotate the straightener 180 degrees (half turn) away from your face.
5. Slowly glide the straightener down the hair shaft, maintaining the rotation, until you reach the ends.
6. Release the hair to reveal a curl. Repeat for desired curls.

6. Maintenance

• Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wipe the plates and exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
• Ensure the appliance is completely dry before storing.
• Store in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging or the provided heat-resistant pouch.

7. Troubleshooting

• Appliance not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the power button is pressed and held for a few seconds to activate.
• Not heating up: Verify the temperature setting is selected. If the issue persists, unplug and re-plug the device.
• Hair snagging: Ensure hair is fully detangled before use. Take smaller sections of hair.
• Frizz persists: Ensure the ionic technology is active (if indicated by a light). Apply a heat protectant or anti-frizz serum before styling.
• Auto shut-off activates too soon: The device is designed to turn off after 60 minutes of inactivity. If it turns off during active use, contact customer support.
