5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your cooktop.

  • Daily Cleaning: After each use, allow the cooktop to cool completely. Wipe the ceramic glass surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
  • Stubborn Stains: For tougher stains, use a non-abrasive ceramic cooktop cleaner. Apply a small amount to the cooled surface and gently scrub with a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch or damage the glass surface.
  • Spills: Clean spills immediately once the surface has cooled to prevent them from baking onto the surface.
  • Cooling Fan: Ensure the cooling fan vents on the bottom of the unit remain clear of obstructions.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your cooktop, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Cooktop not turning on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working 110V-120V outlet. Ensure the power button for the desired burner is pressed and held to activate.
  • Burner not heating: Verify that the power level is set above '0'. Ensure the cookware is properly placed on the heating zone.
  • 'H' indicator remains on: This indicates residual heat. The surface is still hot. Wait for the indicator to disappear before touching or cleaning.
  • Cooktop shuts off unexpectedly: This may be due to the overheat protection activating. Allow the unit to cool down before attempting to restart. Ensure proper ventilation.
  • Child safety lock engaged: If controls are unresponsive, check if the child safety lock is active. Press and hold the lock button to deactivate it.
