4.2 Cleaning

To ensure accurate readings and prolong the life of your devices:

  • Wipe the exterior of the gateway and sensors with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Avoid exposing the devices to excessive dust or moisture. The sensors are not waterproof.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GoveeLife system, refer to the following common solutions:

5.1 Connectivity Issues

  • Gateway not connecting to WiFi: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi signal. The gateway does not support 5GHz networks. Verify the WiFi password is correct.
  • Sensors not connecting to gateway: Ensure sensors are within Bluetooth range of the gateway (up to 262ft in open areas). Check battery levels in the sensors. Try re-pairing the sensors through the Govee Home app.
  • App not displaying data: Confirm your smartphone has an active internet connection. Ensure the Govee Home app is updated to the latest version.

5.2 Inaccurate Readings

  • Sensor placement: Avoid placing sensors near heat sources (e.g., direct sunlight, appliances) or strong drafts, which can affect accuracy.
  • Calibration: While the sensors are factory-calibrated for high precision, if you suspect significant deviation, consult the Govee Home app settings for any available calibration options or contact support.

5.3 Alarm Function Not Working

  • Ensure alarm thresholds are correctly set in the Govee Home app.
  • Verify that app notifications and email alerts are enabled in your phone's settings and the Govee Home app.
  • Confirm that the gateway model is H5151 or H5042, as the alarm function is only supported by these specific gateways.
