Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Flight Checklist
- Ensure drone and remote controller batteries are fully charged.
- Check that propellers are securely attached and undamaged.
- Verify the drone is paired with the remote controller.
- Choose an open area free from obstacles, people, and animals.
- Check weather conditions; avoid strong winds.
2. Takeoff and Landing
- One Key Takeoff: Press the one-key takeoff button on the remote controller. The drone will automatically ascend to a stable hovering height.
- Manual Takeoff: Push both joysticks diagonally outwards and downwards to start the motors. Then, gently push the left joystick up to ascend.
- One Key Landing: Press the one-key landing button. The drone will automatically descend and land.
- Manual Landing: Gently pull the left joystick down to descend. Once landed, pull both joysticks diagonally outwards and downwards to stop the motors.

3. Flight Controls (Remote Controller Guide)
Familiarize yourself with the remote controller layout and functions:

Image: A detailed diagram of the S116 Max remote controller, indicating the functions of each button and joystick, such as one-click lifting, emergency stop, speed switching, camera controls, and screen switch.
- Left Joystick (Throttle/Yaw): Up/Down for altitude, Left/Right for rotation (yaw).
- Right Joystick (Direction): Up/Down for forward/backward, Left/Right for left/right sideward flight.
- One Click Lifting: Automatic takeoff.
- One Click Emergency Stop: Immediately stops motors (use in emergencies only).
- Obstacle Avoidance On/Off: Activates/deactivates the 360° obstacle avoidance system.
- Headless Mode: Drone flies according to the remote controller's orientation, regardless of the drone's front direction.
- Speed Switching: Adjusts flight speed (low, medium, high).
- Camera Up/Down: Adjusts the angle of the front camera.
- Take Photos/View Photos: Captures still images or accesses the photo gallery.
- Recording/Viewing Videos: Starts/stops video recording or accesses video gallery.
- Screen Switch: Toggles between drone camera view and other display modes on the remote controller screen.
4. Advanced Flight Features
- Optical Flow Hover: Maintains stable hovering indoors and outdoors by analyzing ground patterns.
- 360° Obstacle Avoidance: The drone automatically detects and avoids obstacles in its path.
- Waypoint Fly (Trajectory Flight): Use the smartphone app to draw a flight path on the screen. The drone will follow this path and capture footage.
- Gravity Sensing: Control the drone's flight direction by tilting your smartphone (when using the app).
- Gesture Control: Use specific hand gestures to trigger photo or video capture (refer to app instructions for details).

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone and remote controller. Avoid water or solvents.
- Propellers: Regularly inspect propellers for cracks or damage. Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spares and screwdriver.
- Batteries: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not overcharge or over-discharge. If storing for extended periods, charge to approximately 50%.
- Storage: When not in use, store the drone and accessories in the provided storage bag to protect them from dust and damage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drone does not respond to remote controller. | Not paired; low battery; out of range. | Re-pair drone and remote; charge batteries; ensure within 150m control distance. |
| Drone drifts during flight. | Not calibrated; uneven surface at takeoff; strong wind. | Perform gyroscope calibration; take off from a flat surface; avoid flying in strong winds. |
| Camera not recording or taking photos. | Memory card full or not inserted; incorrect operation. | Ensure memory card is inserted correctly and has free space; refer to operating instructions for camera functions. |
| Short flight time. | Battery not fully charged; old battery; aggressive flying. | Ensure battery is fully charged; consider replacing old batteries; fly more conservatively. |
| Obstacle avoidance not working. | Feature deactivated; sensor obstruction. | Activate obstacle avoidance via remote; ensure sensors are clean and unobstructed. |
