5.1 DTF Printing Process Overview

The DTF printing process involves several key steps:

  1. Computer Setting & Design: Prepare your design using graphic design software.
  2. Print on PET Film: Print the design onto the PET film using the DTF Printer XP600.
  3. Apply Hot Melt Powder: Immediately after printing, apply DTF powder adhesive evenly onto the wet ink on the film.
  4. Curing/Oven Baking: Heat the film with DTF powder in a curing oven or dryer to melt the adhesive. This step usually requires a temperature of about 160-180°C (320-356°F) for 60 seconds.
  5. Heat Press to Garment: Preheat your heat press machine to the required temperature (usually around 160-170°C or 320-340°F). Place the film onto the garment or substrate in the desired position and apply heat and pressure. Allow the film to cool slightly, then peel off the film. The design should now be transferred onto the fabric.
