ANENG M107 / SZ08 Digital Multimeter User Manual
Model: ANENG M107 / SZ08
1. Introduction
This user manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective operation of your ANENG M107 / SZ08 Digital Multimeter. This handheld device is designed for measuring various electrical parameters including AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, capacitance, diode, continuity, and features non-contact voltage (NCV) detection and live wire testing. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper functionality and safety.
2. Safety Information
Always adhere to basic safety precautions when using electrical testing equipment to prevent personal injury or damage to the meter or equipment under test. This meter complies with CAT III 500V safety standards.
- Do not exceed the maximum input value specified for each range.
- Exercise extreme caution when working with voltages above 36V DC or 25V AC RMS. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Before measuring current, ensure the circuit is de-energized and the meter is connected in series.
- Before measuring resistance, capacitance, or diode, ensure the circuit is de-energized and all capacitors are discharged.
- Inspect test leads for damage before each use. Do not use if insulation is compromised.
- Do not operate the meter if it appears damaged or if the case is open.
- Replace the battery when the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings.
- Keep fingers behind the probe barriers during measurements.

The ANENG M107 / SZ08 Digital Multimeter features a compact design with a clear digital display and intuitive controls. Key components include:
- LCD Display: A 1999-count backlit digital display showing measurement readings, units, and various indicators such as low battery, data hold, and auto-ranging.
- Function Buttons:
- MODE Button: Toggles between different measurement modes (e.g., AC/DC voltage, resistance/continuity/diode).
- NCV Button: Activates Non-Contact Voltage detection mode.
- H/※ Button: Used for Data Hold (H) and Backlight (※) activation.
- Power Button: Turns the device on and off. Features auto power off.
- Input Jacks:
- COM Jack: Common terminal for all measurements (negative input).
- VΩHz Jack: Input for voltage, resistance, frequency, capacitance, diode, and continuity measurements (positive input).
- 2A Jack: Input for current measurements up to 2A (positive input).
- Live Jack: Input for live wire detection.
4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The multimeter requires batteries for operation. To install or replace batteries:
- Ensure the multimeter is turned off and test leads are disconnected.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert new batteries, observing correct polarity (+ and -).
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
Press the red power button to turn the multimeter on. The device features an auto power off function to conserve battery life if inactive for a period.
5.2 Measurement Modes
Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the appropriate input jack (VΩHz or 2A) for your desired measurement.
- Voltage Measurement (AC/DC): Turn on the meter. The meter automatically detects AC or DC voltage. Connect test leads in parallel to the circuit.
- Current Measurement (AC/DC): Turn on the meter. Select the appropriate current range (e.g., 2A). Connect the meter in series with the circuit.
- Resistance Measurement: Turn on the meter. Connect test leads across the component. Ensure the circuit is de-energized.
- Capacitance Measurement: Turn on the meter. Connect test leads across the capacitor. Ensure the capacitor is discharged before testing.
- Diode Test: Turn on the meter. Connect test leads across the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop.
- Continuity Test: Turn on the meter. Connect test leads across the circuit or component. A built-in buzzer will sound if continuity is detected (resistance below a certain threshold).
- Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection: Press the NCV button. Hold the top of the meter near an AC voltage source. The meter will indicate the presence of voltage through visual and/or audible alerts.
- Live Wire Detection: Insert the red test lead into the Live jack. Touch the probe to the wire. The meter will indicate if the wire is live.
- Data Hold: Press the 'H' button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
- Backlight: Press the '※' button to turn the display backlight on or off for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Ensure the meter is dry before use.
6.2 Battery Replacement
Refer to Section 4.1 for battery replacement instructions when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
6.3 Storage
If the meter is not to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage. Store the meter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Meter Does Not Turn On: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Incorrect Readings: Ensure test leads are correctly inserted into the appropriate jacks for the selected measurement mode. Verify the circuit is properly connected. Check battery level.
- "OL" or Overload Indication: The measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range if available, or ensure the input is within the meter's maximum specifications.
- No Continuity Beep: Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Check if the resistance is too high for continuity detection.
