5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Cloudray Water Chiller CW-5200:

  1. Placement: Place the chiller on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit, especially near the cooling fans.
  2. Fill Water Tank: Open the water inlet cap on top of the chiller. Carefully pour deionized water or a recommended antifreeze mixture into the tank until the water level indicator shows "NORMAL" or "FULL". Do not overfill.
  3. Connect Hoses: Connect the water hoses from your CO2 laser machine or cold plunge tub to the "INLET" and "OUTLET" ports on the back of the chiller. Ensure connections are secure to prevent leaks.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the chiller's power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Initial Start-up: Turn on the power switch located on the side of the chiller. The display will illuminate.
  6. Set Temperature: Use the temperature controller buttons (SET, UP, DOWN) to set your desired water temperature. For CO2 laser machines, a common recommended temperature is 23°C (73.4°F). For cold plunge applications, adjust to your preference.
  7. Verify Water Flow: Observe the water level indicator and listen for the pump operation to ensure proper water circulation.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the chiller is set up, operating it is straightforward:

  1. Power On: Flip the main power switch to the "ON" position. The digital display will show the current water temperature.
  2. Temperature Adjustment: Use the "SET" button to enter temperature adjustment mode, then use the "UP" and "DOWN" arrows to select your desired temperature. Press "SET" again to confirm.
  3. Monitoring: Regularly check the digital display for the water temperature and the water level indicator to ensure it remains within the "NORMAL" or "FULL" range.
  4. Alarms: If an alarm (e.g., flow alarm, over-temperature alarm) is triggered, the chiller will emit an audible alert and the "ALARM" light may illuminate. Refer to the Troubleshooting section for resolution.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your chiller:

  • Water Replacement: Replace the water in the reservoir every month to avoid reduced cooling efficiency and prevent algae growth.
  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the dust filters on the side and back of the chiller to maintain optimal airflow and cooling performance. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
  • Hose Inspection: Periodically inspect all hoses and connections for any signs of wear, cracks, or leaks. Replace damaged hoses immediately.
  • Drainage: If moving the chiller or storing it for an extended period, use the drain port at the bottom to completely empty the water tank.

8. Troubleshooting

This section outlines common issues and their potential solutions:

IssuePossible CauseSolution
Flow AlarmInsufficient water flow, blocked hose, or pump malfunction.Check water level, inspect hoses for kinks, clean pump filter, or contact support.
Over Temp AlarmAmbient temperature too high, blocked vents, or cooling system issue.Ensure proper ventilation, clean vents, reduce ambient temperature, or contact support.
Overheating ProtectionChiller operating beyond its capacity or prolonged high-temperature operation.Allow chiller to cool down, verify load is within specifications, or contact support.
Overcurrent ProtectionElectrical overload or internal component fault.Check power supply, ensure no other high-power devices are on the same circuit, or contact support.
