VEVOR Linear Actuator User Manual

Model: OK648-A

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the VEVOR Linear Actuator. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your linear actuator. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

The VEVOR Linear Actuator is designed for applications requiring precise linear motion, offering robust performance with a high load capacity and durable construction. Its IP65 rating ensures reliable operation in challenging outdoor and humid environments.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Always disconnect power before installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage matches the actuator's rated voltage (DC12V).
  • Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 660lbs (3000N). Overloading can cause damage and void warranty.
  • Avoid direct exposure to extreme temperatures or corrosive substances.
  • The IP65 rating provides protection against dust and water splashes, but water immersion is strictly prohibited and may result in motor burnout.
  • Do not disassemble the actuator. Internal components are not user-serviceable.
  • Keep hands and loose clothing clear of moving parts during operation.
  • Ensure proper mounting and secure connections to prevent accidental movement or detachment.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Attaching Mounting Brackets

The linear actuator comes with mounting brackets for secure installation. Follow these steps to attach them:

  1. Align the mounting bracket with the end of the linear actuator.
  2. Insert a screw rod through the holes of the bracket and the actuator's mounting point.
  3. Secure the screw rod with an R-type pin.
  4. Repeat for the other end of the actuator.

5.2 Wiring Connection

The linear actuator requires a DC12V power supply and a controller (not included) for operation. Proper wiring is crucial for functionality and safety.

  • Connect the two wires of the actuator to a 12V battery or appropriate power supply.
  • To extend the actuator, connect the blue wire to the positive terminal and the gray wire to the negative terminal.
  • To retract the actuator, reverse the terminal connection (blue wire to negative, gray wire to positive).
  • Note: Only the pushrod is included. Additional installation accessories, 12V 8A power supply, and controller parts need to be purchased separately.
  • Important: When two motors are controlled simultaneously, their operating speeds may differ and cannot be perfectly synchronized.

6. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and wired, the linear actuator can be operated via a compatible controller (not supplied). The actuator features a pre-installed internal limit switch for automatic stopping.

  • Extension: Apply DC12V power with correct polarity (blue to positive, gray to negative) to extend the actuator rod. It will automatically stop when it reaches its fully extended position.
  • Retraction: Reverse the polarity of the DC12V power supply (blue to negative, gray to positive) to retract the actuator rod. It will automatically stop when it reaches its fully retracted position.
  • Stopping: When power is off, the actuator will remain in its current position.
  • The internal limit switch is non-adjustable.

6.1 Applications

The VEVOR Linear Actuator is highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to:

  • Furniture automation (e.g., lifting desks, reclining sofas)
  • Agricultural equipment
  • Construction machinery
  • Industrial automation
  • Solar panel tracking systems
  • Irrigation systems
  • Automatic doors and windows
  • Marine applications (e.g., engine hatches)

7. Maintenance

The VEVOR Linear Actuator is designed for low maintenance. However, regular checks can prolong its lifespan and ensure optimal performance:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the exterior of the actuator with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the actuator for any signs of damage, loose connections, or unusual wear. Check mounting points for stability.
  • Lubrication: The internal components are pre-lubricated and generally do not require additional lubrication. If the actuator is exposed to harsh conditions, consult VEVOR support for guidance.
  • Waterproof Cap Covers: Ensure the waterproof cap covers are properly installed over the connections to maintain IP65 protection.

Incorrect wiring polarity
Overload
Damaged motor/internal components
Check power source and connections.
Verify correct polarity for desired motion.
Reduce load; ensure it's within 660lbs (3000N).
Contact VEVOR support.
Actuator moves slowly or inconsistentlyInsufficient power
Excessive load
Friction in application
Ensure stable 12V power supply with sufficient current (min 6A).
Reduce load.
Check for obstructions or binding in the application's mechanism.
Actuator makes unusual noiseInternal wear
Misalignment
Foreign object
Ensure proper alignment during installation.
Inspect for any foreign objects near moving parts.
If noise persists, contact VEVOR support.
Actuator stops prematurelyInternal limit switch activated
Overload protection
Power interruption
This is normal operation if it reaches full extension/retraction.
Reduce load.
