2. Cutting Techniques

  • Always maintain a firm grip and stable footing.
  • Allow the chainsaw to reach full speed before engaging the wood.
  • Apply light, consistent pressure. Do not force the saw through the wood.
  • Be aware of kickback, especially when cutting with the tip of the guide bar.
  • For branches, cut from the top down to prevent pinching. For larger logs, make a relief cut on the underside first.
  • The chainsaw is designed for cutting branches up to 6 inches in diameter, but can handle logs up to 8 inches with proper technique.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your chainsaw. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.

  • Chain Inspection and Sharpening: Regularly check the chain for sharpness and damage. A dull chain reduces efficiency and increases kickback risk. Sharpen or replace the chain as needed.
  • Cleaning: After each use, clean sawdust and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing using the provided brush or compressed air.
  • Oiling System: Ensure the oil reservoir is filled before each use. Check the oil delivery system for clogs.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not expose them to extreme temperatures. Charge them fully before long-term storage.
  • General Inspection: Periodically check all screws and fasteners for tightness. Inspect the power cord of the charger for damage.
