4. Package Contents

Your BLACK+DECKER Portable Air Conditioner package should include the following items:

5. Setup

Setting up your portable air conditioner is straightforward. The unit is designed for easy mobility with built-in handles and casters.

  1. Positioning: Place the unit on a flat, stable surface near a window. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow.
  2. Window Kit Installation: Install the provided window kit into your window opening. The kit includes a slider bracket that fits windows from 27.5" to 47.2" wide. Connect the air exhaust hose to the unit and the window kit to vent hot air outside.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the unit into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Wi-Fi Setup (Optional): Download the dedicated app for iOS or Android. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your unit to your home Wi-Fi network for smart control via the app, Alexa, or Google Assistant.

6. Operating

Your portable air conditioner offers multiple operating modes and settings for customized comfort.

  • Power On/Off: Press the power button on the unit's control panel or the remote control.
  • Mode Selection: Cycle through Air Conditioner, Fan, and Dehumidifier modes using the mode button.
  • Fan Speed: Select from 2 fan speeds (low, high) to adjust airflow intensity.
  • Temperature Adjustment: In AC mode, use the up/down arrows to set your desired temperature.
  • Timer Function: Set the 24-hour timer to automatically turn the unit on or off at a specified time.
  • Louvers: Manually adjust the louvers (up + down) to direct the airflow as needed.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your unit.

  • Filter Cleaning: The unit features a removable and washable filter. Clean the filter regularly (e.g., every two weeks or as needed) to maintain air quality and cooling efficiency. Refer to the full user guide for detailed cleaning instructions.
  • Water Drainage: The unit features auto water evaporation. However, in high humidity conditions, the internal water tank may fill up, triggering an E2 error message. In such cases, manually drain the water using the drain hose provided.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, ensure the unit is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place.

  • Unit Not Turning On: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet. Ensure there is no power outage.

  • E2 Error Message: This typically indicates that the internal water tank is full. Drain the water from the unit using the drain hose.
  • Unusual Noise: Ensure the unit is on a flat, stable surface. Check for any foreign objects in the air intake or exhaust.
