4. Setup and Installation
The Anweller Smart Door Knob Lock is designed for easy DIY installation, requiring only a screwdriver (included). No extra drilling or locksmith is needed. It is suitable for both left and right-handed doors.
4.1. Door Compatibility Check
Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:
- Backset: 2-3/8 inches (60mm) or 2-3/4 inches (70mm)
- Door Thickness: 1-3/16 inches to 2-1/8 inches (30mm to 55mm)
- Hole Diameter: 2-1/8 inches (54mm)
This lock is compatible with single cylinder setups and is reversible for ambidextrous use. It is not compatible with mortise locks.

4.2. Battery Installation
The smart door knob requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included). To install:
- Locate the battery compartment on the interior knob.
- Use the provided screwdriver to remove the screw securing the battery cover.
- Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.
4.3. Physical Installation Steps
Follow these general steps for physical installation:
- Remove your existing door knob.
- Install the new latch mechanism into the door edge and secure it with screws.
- Insert the exterior knob assembly through the door, ensuring the spindle aligns with the latch.
- Connect the wiring from the exterior knob to the interior knob.
- Attach the interior knob assembly and secure it with screws.
- Ensure the 'UP' indicator on the interior knob is correctly oriented.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Mobile App Control
Download the dedicated mobile application (e.g., Tuya Smart or Smart Life app) from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your smart door knob via Bluetooth. The app allows you to:
- Lock and unlock the door remotely.
- Add and manage fingerprints and passcodes.
- Generate temporary access codes.
- View access logs and user activity.
- Switch between Normal, Passage, and Privacy modes.
5.2. Fingerprint Usage
To unlock with a registered fingerprint:
- Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor.
- The lock will illuminate green upon successful recognition.
- Turn the knob to open the door.
5.3. Passcode Usage
To unlock with a registered passcode:
- Enter your passcode on the keypad.
- Press the '#' key to confirm.

5.4. Emergency Key Usage

- Locate the keyhole on the exterior knob.

6. Maintenance
6.1. Battery Replacement
