6. Operating Instructions
The watch winder features a power switch and two distinct rotation modes to suit different watch winding requirements.
6.1 Power On/Off
- Locate the power switch on the back of the unit.
- Set the switch to the 'ON' position to power on the winder.
- Set the switch to the 'OFF' position to power off the winder.
6.2 Rotation Modes
Select the desired rotation mode using the mode switch (often integrated with the power switch or a separate selector, refer to Figure 5.1 for typical location):
- Gear B (Short-term Use):
- Rotates forward for 2 minutes.
- Stops for 6 minutes.
- Rotates in reverse for 2 minutes.
- Stops for 6 minutes.
- Repeats the cycle.
- Gear L (Long-term Use):
- Rotates in reverse for 2 minutes.
- Stops for 18 minutes.
- Rotates forward for 2 minutes.
- Stops for 18 minutes.
- Repeats the cycle.
Note: Gear B is generally suitable for maintaining a watch's charge over shorter periods, while Gear L is designed for extended winding and storage.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use the provided wiping cloth or a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the exterior of the winder. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Interior Care: Ensure the interior is free of dust and debris. Do not use liquids inside the winder.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the power and store the winder in a cool, dry place.
- Watch Pillow: Periodically check the watch pillow for wear and tear. Replace if necessary to ensure proper watch support.
8. Troubleshooting
- Winder is not rotating:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the winder and a power source.
- Verify that the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- If your watch does not wind up immediately, note that the winder operates in cycles with stop periods. Wait for the full cycle (e.g., 6 minutes for Gear B or 18 minutes for Gear L) to see if the rotation restarts. The automatic winding might be in a paused phase of its cycle.
- Excessive Noise:
- Ensure the winder is placed on a flat, stable surface.
- Check that the watch is properly seated on the pillow and not causing any obstruction.
- If unusual noise persists, contact customer support.
- Watch not winding:
- Confirm your watch is an automatic (self-winding) timepiece. Manual-wind watches do not benefit from a winder.
- Ensure the watch is correctly positioned on the pillow.
- Try a different rotation mode (Gear B or Gear L) to see if it better suits your watch's winding mechanism.
