Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe operation, assembly, and maintenance of your HONEYWHALE K6 Electric Bike. Please read this manual thoroughly before your first ride to ensure proper use and to maximize your riding experience.
Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating your electric bike. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the bike.
- Wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear at all times.
- Familiarize yourself with local traffic laws and regulations regarding electric bikes.
- Perform a pre-ride inspection before each use, checking brakes, tire pressure, and battery level.
- Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 150 kg.
- Avoid riding in adverse weather conditions or on slippery surfaces.
- Ensure all components are securely fastened before riding.
- Do not attempt to modify the bike's electrical system or motor.
- Be aware of your surroundings and other road users.
- When braking, use both front and rear disc brakes simultaneously for optimal stopping power and control.
Setup & Assembly
The HONEYWHALE K6 Electric Bike is delivered semi-assembled. Follow these steps carefully for proper setup. A mounting tool is included in the package.
Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Check the included components: 1 x K6 E-bike, 1 x charger, 1 x manual, 1 x mounting tool.

Display and Controls
The high-definition LCD display provides essential riding information. Familiarize yourself with the controls before riding.

- Power Button: Turns the bike's electrical system on/off.
- LCD Display: Shows mileage, current gear, battery level, and speed.
- Gear Adjustment: Controls the 7-speed mechanical gears.
- Throttle: Used for purely electric mode.
- Headlight Button: Activates the large, bright headlight.
- Horn: Activates the horn.
Riding Modes
The K6 offers three distinct riding modes to suit various preferences and terrains.

Image: A rider on the HONEYWHALE K6 Electric Bike illustrating the three riding modes: Normal Riding (7 gear changes), Assist Riding (more energy saving), and Purely Electric Riding (5 speed gears).
- Riding Mode (Pedal Only):
Operate the bike solely by pedaling, similar to a traditional bicycle. Use the 7-speed transmission gears to adapt to different terrains. Do not change gears when the bike is stopped to prevent chain and gear damage.
- Pedal Assist Mode:
Engage the power button and pedal. The motor provides electric assistance as you pedal, reducing effort and extending range. This mode is ideal for longer rides or uphill climbs.
- Purely Electric Mode:
Press the ON button and use the throttle for fully electric propulsion without pedaling. This mode offers 5 different speed limits controlled by the throttle.
Braking System
The K6 is equipped with front and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping power.
- Always apply both front and rear brakes simultaneously for balanced and effective braking.
- Avoid sudden, hard braking, especially at high speeds or on slippery surfaces.
- Regularly check brake pads and rotors for wear.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your HONEYWHALE K6 Electric Bike.
- Tires: Check tire pressure regularly (20 x 4 inches). Ensure tires are free from punctures and excessive wear.
- Brakes: Inspect brake pads and rotors for wear. Adjust brake cables as needed to maintain proper stopping power.
- Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent rust.
- Battery: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods. Charge regularly, even if not in use.
- Frame & Components: Periodically check all bolts and fasteners for tightness. Clean the frame with a damp cloth; avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
- Waterproofing: The bike has an IPX5 waterproof rating, meaning it is resistant to water splashes. Avoid submerging the bike or exposing it to heavy rain for prolonged periods.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bike does not power on. | Battery is not charged or not properly installed. | Charge the battery. Ensure the battery is securely inserted and locked. |
| Motor not assisting or no power in electric mode. | Low battery, loose connection, or incorrect riding mode selected. | Check battery level and charge if necessary. Verify all electrical connections. Ensure Purely Electric or Pedal Assist mode is selected. |
| Gears are not shifting smoothly. | Chain needs lubrication, derailleur adjustment, or shifting while stationary. | Lubricate the chain. Adjust the derailleur if needed (consult a bike mechanic). Always shift gears while pedaling. |
| Brakes feel weak or make noise. | Worn brake pads, contaminated rotors, or loose cables. | Inspect and replace brake pads if worn. Clean rotors. Adjust brake cable tension. |
| Reduced range. | Low tire pressure, heavy load, frequent use of purely electric mode, or cold weather. | Ensure tires are properly inflated. Reduce load. Use pedal assist mode more often. Battery performance can be affected by temperature. |
