2. Safety Information

• Ensure the device is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
• Keep the device away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Do not immerse the main machine base in water. Refer to cleaning instructions for proper maintenance.
• Use only dry pet food with a kibble size between 3mm and 14mm to prevent jamming.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets when not in use or during maintenance.
• Always unplug the device before cleaning or performing any maintenance.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Assembly

4.2 Powering the Unit

• USB Power: Connect the provided USB cable to the port on the device and plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
• Battery Backup (Optional): For power outages or portability, insert 3 D-cell batteries (not included) into the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit. The device will automatically switch to battery power if the main power is interrupted.

4.3 Filling Food and Water

• Food Reservoir: Open the lid of the food reservoir and pour dry pet food into the compartment. Ensure the food is within the recommended kibble size (3-14mm). Close the lid securely to maintain freshness.

• Water Reservoir: Remove the water tank, fill it with clean water, and securely place it back onto the unit. The gravity system will automatically fill the water bowl.

5.1 Setting Feeding Schedule

The DUDUPET feeder allows you to program up to 6 meals per day with adjustable portion sizes (0-15 portions per meal). Refer to the device's control panel or accompanying app (if applicable) for detailed programming steps. Typically, this involves:

1. Accessing the programming mode.
2. Setting the current time.
3. Selecting a meal number (e.g., Meal 1).
4. Setting the desired feeding time for that meal.
5. Adjusting the number of portions for that meal.
6. Repeating for additional meals.
7. Saving the settings.

5.2 Voice Recording Function

Some models include a voice recording feature to call your pet at meal times. To record a message:

1. Locate the record button on the device.
2. Press and hold the record button.
3. Speak your message clearly into the microphone.
4. Release the button to save the recording.
5. The recorded message will play automatically before each scheduled meal.

5.3 Manual Feeding

To dispense food manually outside of the scheduled times, press the manual feed button (often labeled 'FEED' or similar) on the control panel. Each press typically dispenses one portion.

5.4 Water Dispenser Operation

The water dispenser operates on a gravity-fed system. Once the water reservoir is filled and correctly placed, water will automatically flow into the bowl as your pet drinks, maintaining a consistent water level. No manual programming is required for the water dispenser.

Regular cleaning is essential for your pet's health and the longevity of the device.

1. Disassembly: Unplug the device. Remove the food and water bowls, the water tank, and the food storage container.
2. Cleaning Components: Wash the food bowl, water bowl, water tank, and food storage container with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembly.
3. Main Unit Cleaning: DO NOT rinse the main machine base with water. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the exterior and any internal parts that come into contact with food. Ensure no water enters the electronic components.
4. Desiccant Box: Replace the desiccant pack in the desiccant box every 1-2 months, or as needed, to maintain food freshness.
5. Reassembly: Once all parts are dry, reassemble the device, ensuring all components are securely in place.
