1. Introduction

The JBL EON712 12-inch loudspeaker is a key component of JBL’s EON700 Series of powered PA systems. 2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the EON712 loudspeakers from their packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.

2.2 Placement

Position the loudspeakers on a stable, flat surface or mount them using compatible pole mounts. Ensure adequate ventilation around the units.

2.3 Power Connection

  1. Ensure the power switch on the rear panel is in the OFF position.
  2. Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC input on the rear panel of the loudspeaker.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

2.4 Audio Connections

The EON712 features two combo XLR-1/4" inputs (Ch.1 and Ch.2) and an XLR Thru-Output.

  • Input 1 & 2: Connect microphones, instruments, or line-level devices using XLR or 1/4" cables.
  • Thru-Output: Use this XLR output to daisy-chain to additional EON700 series speakers or other audio equipment.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Powering On/Off

To power on, ensure all input levels are turned down, then flip the power switch to the ON position. To power off, turn down all input levels, then flip the power switch to the OFF position.

3.2 Using the Digital Mixer and DSP

The EON712 features a built-in 3-channel digital mixer and advanced DSP accessible via the backlit color LCD screen and push-button controls on the rear panel.

  • Gain Controls: Adjust the input gain for Channel 1 and Channel 2 independently.
  • LCD Menu: Navigate through the menu to access DSP functions such as:
    • Automatic Feedback Suppression (AFS)
    • 8-band Output EQ
    • Microphone Ducking
