4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your ice maker.

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  • Remove all packaging materials and inspect the unit for any damage.
  • Place the ice maker on a firm, level surface capable of supporting its weight when full of ice and water.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation by leaving at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space around the sides and back of the unit.
  • Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.

4.2 Water Connection

The ice maker offers two methods for water supply:

  1. Tap Water Connection:
    • Connect the provided water inlet pipe to a potable water tap.
    • Secure the other end of the inlet pipe to the designated water inlet on the back of the ice maker. Use PTFE tape for a watertight seal.
  2. Bottled Water Connection:
    • If using bottled water, ensure the bottle is placed securely on a compatible dispenser connected to the ice maker's water inlet.
  3. Drain Pipe Connection:
    • Connect the drain pipe to the drain outlet on the back of the unit.
    • Route the drain pipe to a suitable floor drain or container, ensuring a continuous downward slope for proper drainage.

4.3 Electrical Connection

  • Ensure the power supply matches the voltage and frequency specified on the product label.
  • Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

5. Operation

The control panel features an LED digital display and mechanical buttons for various functions:

  • ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off.
  • TIMER Button: Sets a scheduled start or stop time for ice production (up to 24 hours).
  • CLEAN Button: Initiates the automatic self-cleaning cycle.
  • LIGHT Button: Controls the internal light.
  • +/- Buttons: Adjust ice-making time to control ice cube thickness.
  • Indicator Lights: Provide real-time status updates (e.g., Ice Full, Water Shortage).

5.2 Initial Start-up

You can customize the thickness of the ice cubes by adjusting the ice-making time:

  • Use the + button to increase the ice-making time, resulting in thicker ice.
  • Use the - button to decrease the ice-making time, resulting in thinner ice.
  • Typical ice-making times range from 8-10 minutes for thin ice, 11-15 minutes for medium ice, and 15-18 minutes for thick ice.

5.4 Scheduled Ice Production

The timer function allows you to schedule when the ice maker starts or stops:

  • Press the TIMER button.
  • Use the + and - buttons to set the desired delay time (in hours) for the unit to turn on or off.
