7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Display or Flickering Screen:
    • Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and your computers/monitor.
    • Verify that your monitor supports the output resolution (e.g., 4K@60Hz) from the KVM switch. Adjust computer display settings if necessary.
    • Try using a different HDMI cable, as cable quality can affect signal transmission.
    • Note that the screen may go black for 3-5 seconds during switching as the HDMI signals are re-identified. This is normal operation.
  • USB Devices (Keyboard/Mouse/Flash Drive) Not Responding:
    • Ensure all USB 3.0 cables from your computers to the KVM switch are securely connected.
    • Connect the USB-C power cable to the KVM switch's 5V IN port and a 5V USB power adapter. This can provide additional power to stabilize USB peripheral operation, especially for devices with higher power requirements or if experiencing power fluctuations.
    • Try connecting the USB device directly to the computer to confirm it functions correctly.
    • Some specialized keyboards or mice may require direct connection to the computer or specific drivers not supported by KVM switches.
  • Desktop Icons Rearrange After Switching:
    • The KVM switch features Adaptive EDID to minimize this. For Windows 11, ensure the "Remember window locations based on monitor connection" option is enabled in Display Settings.
  • No Hotkey Switching:
    • This KVM switch does not support hotkey switching. Please use the front panel buttons to switch between computers.
  • Computer Does Not Have HDMI Port:
    • If your computer uses DisplayPort (DP), VGA, or USB-C for video output, you will need an appropriate adapter or adapter cable to convert the signal to HDMI for connection to the KVM switch.
