6. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your DC HOUSE lithium battery:
- Preparation: Ensure the area is well-ventilated and free from flammable materials. Turn off all power to the system where the battery will be installed.
- Mounting: Place the battery in a secure, dry, and cool location. Ensure it is firmly mounted to prevent movement during operation. The compact size allows for flexible placement in golf carts, RVs, or other applications.
- Wiring:
- Connect the positive (+) terminal of the battery to the positive terminal of your system.
- Connect the negative (-) terminal of the battery to the negative terminal of your system.
- Use appropriate gauge cables and ensure all connections are tight and secure using the provided M8 screws. Loose connections can cause overheating and damage.
- If connecting multiple batteries in parallel (not recommended for series connection without specific instructions), ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge before connecting. Consult a professional for complex setups.
- Initial Charge: Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the battery using a compatible LiFePO4 charger.
7. Operation
Operating your DC HOUSE lithium battery is straightforward. The integrated BMS manages charging and discharging parameters.
- Charging: Connect a compatible 48V LiFePO4 charger to the battery. The BMS will manage the charging process, preventing overcharge. Ensure the charger's output voltage and current are suitable for a 48V LiFePO4 battery.
- Discharging: The battery will provide power to your connected 48V system. The BMS will protect against over-discharge by cutting off power if the voltage drops too low.
- Temperature Range: Operate the battery within the specified temperature ranges (Charging: 0~55°C; Discharging: -20~55°C). The BMS will activate temperature protection if these limits are exceeded.
- LCD Monitor: The battery features an LCD monitor (if equipped) to display real-time information such as voltage, current, state of charge (SOC), and temperature. Refer to the monitor for operational status.

Figure 7.1: Typical Application. This image shows a golf cart on a golf course, illustrating the battery's intended use and its capability to provide extended range for activities like 18-hole golf.
8. Maintenance
The DC HOUSE LiFePO4 battery requires minimal maintenance due to its advanced design and BMS. However, periodic checks are recommended:
- Cleaning: Keep the battery terminals and casing clean and free from dust or corrosion. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
- Connection Check: Periodically inspect all cable connections to ensure they remain tight and secure.
- Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50-70% of its capacity and stored in a cool, dry place. Avoid full discharge during storage.
- BMS Monitoring: The built-in BMS continuously monitors the battery's health. No user intervention is typically required for cell balancing or protection.
9. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your battery, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Battery not charging | Charger not connected, charger fault, battery voltage too low, temperature protection active. | Check charger connection and functionality. Ensure battery temperature is within charging range (0-55°C). If voltage is very low, a specialized charger might be needed for initial recovery. |
| Battery not discharging/no power output | Over-discharge protection, overcurrent protection, short circuit, loose connections, temperature protection active. | Check all connections. Allow battery to warm up if temperature is below -20°C. If overcurrent/short circuit, disconnect load, wait for BMS to reset (approx. 32 seconds for overcurrent), then reconnect. Charge the battery if it's in over-discharge protection. |
| LCD monitor not displaying | Battery completely discharged, internal fault. | Attempt to charge the battery. If still no display, contact customer support. |
| Reduced capacity or runtime | Aging battery, extreme operating conditions, partial charge. | Ensure battery is fully charged. Avoid extreme temperatures. If battery is old, capacity naturally degrades over time. |
