Product Overview
The OKESAM GT1000 Metal Detector features a telescopic rod, a waterproof search coil, and an HD backlit LCD display for clear signal indication and mode selection. The included pinpointer provides precise target location.
LCD Display and Controls
The control panel includes buttons for power, menu navigation, increasing/decreasing settings, backlight control, and confirmation. The LCD displays detected target ID, sensitivity, depth, and current detection mode.

This image provides a close-up of the metal detector's HD backlit LCD display, showing indicators for detected target ID, sensitivity, depth, and various metal types (Iron, Nickel, Zinc, Silver, P-Tab). The control panel buttons for Power, Menu, Increase, Decrease, Backlight, OK, and Pinpointer are clearly labeled, along with explanations for DISC and NOTCH functions.
Pinpointer
The handheld pinpointer is a supplementary tool designed for accurate localization of targets once a general area has been identified by the main detector.

Setup
Assembly of Main Unit
- Attach the search coil to the lower stem.
- Connect the lower stem to the middle stem, and then to the upper stem (control box).
- Adjust the length of the stem to a comfortable operating position.
- Secure all connections to prevent wobbling during use.
Charging the Main Unit
The main metal detector unit is equipped with a 2000mAh rechargeable lithium battery. A full charge provides approximately 20 hours of operation.
- Locate the charging port on the control box.
- Connect the provided USB charging cable to the port and a suitable USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer USB port).
- The display will indicate charging status. A full charge typically takes about 4 hours.

Installing Pinpointer Battery
The pinpointer requires a 9V battery (included).
- Unscrew the battery cap at the end of the pinpointer.
- Insert the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace and securely tighten the battery cap. For waterproof use, ensure the cap is pressed down firmly while tightening.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Press and hold the Power button on the control panel to turn the detector on or off.
Detection Modes
The GT1000 offers four distinct detection modes, selectable via the 'MENU' button:
- All Metal Mode: Detects all types of metal without discrimination. This mode offers the deepest detection.
- DISC Mode: Allows you to discriminate against unwanted metals by setting a numerical value. Metals with a target ID below the set value will be ignored.
- Notch Mode: Provides more precise discrimination by allowing you to block specific ranges of unwanted metal types.
- PP Mode (Pinpoint Mode): Used to precisely locate the exact position of a detected target.
Adjusting Sensitivity and Volume
Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the detector's sensitivity and volume. Higher sensitivity can detect smaller or deeper objects but may also increase false signals. Adjust volume to a comfortable level.
Using the Pinpointer
After the main detector identifies a general area with a metal target, use the handheld pinpointer for precise location:
- Turn on the pinpointer.
- Scan the suspected area with the pinpointer tip.
- The pinpointer will emit an audio and/or vibration alert that increases in intensity as it gets closer to the target.
- This allows for accurate retrieval with minimal digging.

A user is shown using the handheld pinpointer to pinpoint a metal object in the soil, after the main metal detector has identified a general area. This illustrates the combined use of both devices for efficient treasure hunting.
Waterproof Usage
The OKESAM GT1000 metal detector's search coil and the pinpointer are IP68 rated, allowing for full immersion in water up to 20 feet (6 meters).
- Ensure all caps and connections, especially the pinpointer's battery cover, are securely tightened before submerging the device in water.
- The main control box is not designed for full immersion. Only the search coil should be submerged.

The metal detector's search coil is shown submerged in clear water, with coins visible beneath it. Labels indicate its dimensions as 10 inches by 7 inches, highlighting its waterproof design suitable for underwater use.

The OKESAM pinpointer is depicted partially submerged in water with splashes, emphasizing its IP68 fully waterproof rating. A note advises to squeeze and tighten the battery cover for proper sealing.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- After each use, especially in wet or sandy conditions, wipe down the search coil and stem with a damp cloth.
- Ensure the pinpointer is clean and dry before storage.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Storage
- Store the metal detector in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- If storing for an extended period, ensure the main unit is fully charged and consider removing the 9V battery from the pinpointer to prevent leakage.
Battery Care
- Recharge the main unit's battery regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
- Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the main unit is charged. Check the 9V battery in the pinpointer for correct installation and charge.
- Erratic Signals: Reduce sensitivity. Move away from power lines, electrical interference, or other metal objects. Perform a ground balance if available (refer to specific model features if applicable).
- Poor Detection Depth: Ensure sensitivity is set appropriately. Check for proper assembly of the search coil.
- Pinpointer Not Working: Verify the 9V battery is fresh and correctly installed. Ensure the battery cap is fully tightened.
