The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. Ensure batteries are fully charged for optimal performance and battery life.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press and hold the power button (if present, or activate the trigger safety) to turn on the shears. The blades will typically open to their maximum position.
  2. Test Cut: Before pruning live plants, make a few test cuts on scrap material to familiarize yourself with the tool's operation and power.
  3. Pruning Technique: Position the open blades around the branch you wish to cut. Ensure the branch fits within the maximum cutting capacity of 28mm. Press the trigger to close the blades and make the cut. Avoid twisting the shears during a cut.

  4. Ergonomic Grip: The shears feature an ergonomic handle designed for comfort and reduced fatigue during prolonged use. Maintain a firm, balanced grip.
  5. Avoid Overloading: Do not attempt to cut branches exceeding the maximum diameter of 28mm. Forcing the shears can damage the blades or motor.
  6. Power Off: After completing your pruning tasks, release the trigger, engage any safety lock, and remove the battery from the shears. This prevents accidental activation.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SQUADO Electric Pruning Shears.

  • Blade Cleaning: After each use, clean the blades thoroughly to remove sap, debris, and plant residue. Use a damp cloth and, if necessary, a mild cleaning solution. Ensure blades are dry before storage.
  • Blade Lubrication: Apply a few drops of the provided lubricant (or a suitable machine oil) to the pivot point and along the cutting edges of the blades after cleaning. This reduces friction and prevents rust.
  • Blade Sharpening: If cutting performance decreases, sharpen the blades using the provided sharpening stone. Follow the original blade angle. Always disconnect the battery before sharpening.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing fully discharged or fully charged for extended periods. Recharge batteries before long-term storage and every few months if not in use.
  • General Storage: Store the pruning shears and all accessories in the provided storage case in a dry, secure location, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Shears do not turn on. Battery not charged or improperly installed. Ensure battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
Poor cutting performance. Blades are dull, dirty, or damaged. Branch diameter too large. Clean and lubricate blades. Sharpen blades if dull. Do not attempt to cut branches exceeding 28mm.
Battery not charging. Charger not connected properly or faulty. Battery damaged. Check charger connection to power outlet and battery. Try a different outlet. If problem persists, contact support.
Shears stop during operation. Battery low or tool overloaded. Recharge battery. Reduce cutting load; do not force cuts on oversized branches.
