3. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your portable greenhouse. It is recommended to have at least two people for assembly.

3.1 Unpacking and Component Identification

Carefully unpack all components and verify against the parts list provided in your packaging. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged before proceeding.

3.2 Frame Assembly

  1. Connect the base frame poles according to the diagram in your manual. Ensure all connections are secure.
  2. Attach the vertical support poles to the base frame.
  3. Connect the top frame poles and secure them to the vertical supports.

3.3 Cover Installation

  1. Carefully drape the PE cover over the assembled frame, ensuring it is centered and aligned.
  2. Secure the cover to the frame using any provided ties or fasteners.

3.4 Securing the Greenhouse

For optimal stability, especially in outdoor conditions, secure the greenhouse using the provided guy ropes and ground stakes. Bury the extended edges of the cover in the soil to create a tight seal and prevent wind from lifting the greenhouse.

4. Operating Instructions

Proper operation ensures optimal plant growth and greenhouse longevity.

4.1 Access and Ventilation

The greenhouse features a zippered door for easy access and a top vent for air circulation. Use these to manage the internal temperature and humidity.

  • Zippered Door: Unzip to enter or exit, or to tend to plants.
  • Top Vent: Open the top vent to release excess heat and humidity, preventing overheating and promoting healthy air exchange. Close the vent to retain warmth.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will prolong the life of your greenhouse.

  • Cleaning: Clean the PE cover periodically with mild soap and water to ensure maximum light penetration. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Frame Inspection: Regularly check the steel frame for any signs of rust or damage. The powder-coated finish helps prevent rust, but scratches should be touched up if they occur.
  • Cover Integrity: Inspect the PE cover for tears or punctures. Small damages can often be repaired with greenhouse repair tape.
  • Anchoring: Periodically check the guy ropes and ground stakes to ensure they remain securely anchored, especially after strong winds.

6. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • Greenhouse instability: Ensure all frame connections are tight, guy ropes are properly tensioned, and ground stakes are fully inserted. Burying the cover edges in soil significantly improves stability.
  • Excessive heat inside: Open the zippered door and top vent to increase air circulation. Consider partial shading during peak sunlight hours if plants are sensitive.
  • Insufficient warmth: Ensure the door and vent are fully closed. For colder climates, additional insulation or heating may be required (not included).
  • Water pooling on cover: Ensure the cover is taut and properly aligned to allow water to run off. Clear any debris that may accumulate on the roof.
