3. Product Overview
Receiver
The receiver unit processes the wireless audio signals from the transmitters. It features true diversity reception with two antennas per channel for enhanced signal stability and range up to 490 feet. The multi-functional LCD indicator displays RF and audio signal status for both channels, current volume levels, and battery life of the transmitters. It provides two individual XLR outputs and one 1/4" mixed output for connection to an amplifier or mixer.
Bodypack Transmitters & Lavalier Microphones
Each bodypack transmitter connects to a lavalier microphone, capturing audio. The lavalier microphones feature an omnidirectional polar pattern. Each channel offers 100 preset UHF frequencies. The transmitters are equipped with an RF power level switchable between Low (LO) and High (HI) settings to optimize performance for various operating environments. Battery compartments are located on the bodypack units.
4. Setup
4.1 Initial Setup
- Position the Receiver: Place the receiver in a central location, away from large metal objects and other wireless devices, to ensure optimal signal reception. Extend the antennas vertically.
- Connect Power: Connect the AC-DC power adapter to the receiver's power input and plug it into a suitable power outlet.
- Connect Audio Output: Connect the receiver's XLR or 1/4" mixed output to your amplifier, mixer, or sound system using the provided 1/4" audio cable or appropriate XLR cables (not included).
4.2 Transmitter Preparation
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on each bodypack transmitter and insert fresh batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Connect Lavalier Microphones: Plug the lavalier microphones into the input jacks on their respective bodypack transmitters.
4.3 Automatic Synchronization (IR Sync)
- Power On: Turn on the receiver and then each bodypack transmitter.
- Initiate Scan: On the receiver, press the 'SCAN' button (or equivalent) to initiate an automatic frequency scan. The receiver will search for clear frequencies.
- Perform IR Sync: Once a clear frequency is found and displayed on the receiver's LCD, align the IR sensor on the bodypack transmitter with the IR window on the receiver. Press the 'SYNC' button (or equivalent) on the receiver. The transmitter and receiver will automatically synchronize to the same frequency. Repeat for the second transmitter.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To power on the receiver, press the power button.
- To power on each bodypack transmitter, press and hold its power button.
- To power off, reverse the process.
5.2 Volume Control
Adjust the output volume for each channel directly on the receiver using the dedicated volume knobs. Monitor the audio levels on the receiver's LCD to prevent clipping.
5.3 Frequency Adjustment
While the automatic IR sync is recommended, frequencies can be manually adjusted if necessary. Consult the receiver's menu for options to select from the 100 preset frequencies per channel. After manual selection, re-sync the transmitter.
5.4 Mute Function
Each bodypack transmitter includes a mute function. Press the mute button on the transmitter to temporarily silence the microphone output without powering off the unit. The receiver's LCD will indicate the muted status.
5.5 RF Power Level Switch
The bodypack transmitters allow switching between Low (LO) and High (HI) RF power output. Use LO for shorter distances or when multiple systems are in use to minimize interference. Use HI for maximum range. This setting is typically found within the transmitter's battery compartment or menu.
5.6 Group Function
The Group Function allows automatic addressing for up to 8 systems simultaneously in the same location. Refer to the receiver's menu for initiating this function. This feature also facilitates switching between different types of transmitters (e.g., handheld and bodypack) if compatible units are used.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No sound output | Receiver or transmitter not powered on; Volume too low; Cables not connected; Mute function active; Incorrect frequency. | Ensure all units are powered on; Increase receiver volume; Check all cable connections; Deactivate mute on transmitter; Re-sync frequencies. |
| Intermittent signal or static | Interference from other devices; Low transmitter battery; Transmitter too far from receiver; Antennas not positioned correctly; RF power set to LO. | Perform a frequency scan and re-sync; Replace transmitter batteries; Reduce distance between transmitter and receiver; Adjust antenna position; Switch RF power to HI. |
| LCD display not working | Power issue; Unit malfunction. | Check power connection; Contact support if issue persists. |
| Cannot synchronize transmitter | IR sensors not aligned; Transmitter not in sync mode; Interference. | Ensure IR sensors are aligned and close; Check transmitter manual for sync mode; Try a different frequency. |
