4. Setup Guide

The Yealink CPE40 is designed for simple plug-and-play operation when connected to a Yealink CP50 speakerphone.

4.1 Initial Connection to CP50

  1. Locate the Ethernet port on the underside of your CPE40.
  2. Connect one end of the provided 3m Cat5 Ethernet Cable to the CPE40's Ethernet port.
  3. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the designated expansion port on your Yealink CP50 speakerphone.
  4. Ensure the CP50 is powered on and connected to your computer or mobile device. The CPE40 draws power directly from the CP50.

4.2 Daisy-Chain Configuration (Multiple CPE40 Units)

For larger meeting spaces, you can daisy-chain multiple CPE40 units to a single CP50.

  1. Connect the first CPE40 to the CP50 as described in Section 4.1.
  2. To add a second CPE40, connect it to the expansion port on the first CPE40 using another Cat5 Ethernet cable.
  3. Repeat this process for additional CPE40 units, connecting each new unit to the previous one in the chain.
  4. Important: If you are daisy-chaining 4 or more CPE40 units (up to a maximum of 7), you must use a Yealink 48V/2A power adapter connected to the CP50 to ensure sufficient power supply. This adapter is sold separately.

An LED indicator will typically change color (e.g., red for muted, green for unmuted) to show the current status. This button synchronizes with the mute status of your conferencing software.
  • Volume Controls: The CPE40 does not have independent volume controls. Volume adjustments for the entire conference system are managed via the connected Yealink CP50 or through your conferencing software/operating system.

5.2 Audio Performance

  • Omni-directional Pickup: The 8-mic array provides 360° audio pickup, ensuring that voices from all directions in the meeting space are captured effectively.
