1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Crompton Instaserve 1600W Induction Cooktop. This manual provides important information for the safe and efficient use of your new appliance. Please read it thoroughly before operation and retain it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, burns, or injury.

2.1 General Safety Precautions

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Only use induction-compatible cookware.
  • Keep metallic objects away from the cooktop surface during operation.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove the induction cooktop from its packaging.
  2. Check for any damage during transit. If damaged, do not use and contact customer support.
  3. Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and labels from the appliance.

3.2 Placement

  • Place the cooktop on a dry, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit (at least 10 cm clearance on all sides).
  • Do not place the cooktop near water sources or heat-sensitive materials.

3.3 Power Connection

  • Ensure the power outlet matches the voltage and frequency requirements of the cooktop (refer to specifications).
  • Plug the power cord firmly into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

The Crompton Instaserve Induction Cooktop features a user-friendly design with tactile push-button controls and 7 one-touch Indian menus for effortless cooking.

4.1 Compatible Cookware

Only use cookware made of ferromagnetic materials (iron, cast iron, magnetic stainless steel) with a flat bottom. To check compatibility, place a magnet on the bottom of the pan; if it sticks, the pan is suitable for induction cooking.

4.2 Basic Operation

  1. Place suitable cookware containing food or liquid on the center of the cooking zone.
  2. Plug the cooktop into a power outlet. The display will show 'OFF'.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the cooktop. The display will show '000' or a default power setting.
  4. Select a cooking function or adjust the power level using the control buttons.
  5. To turn off, press the ON/OFF button again.

4.3 Using One-Touch Indian Menus

The cooktop comes with 7 pre-set Indian menus for convenience:

  • Chapati: Optimized for cooking flatbreads.
  • Cooker: Suitable for pressure cooking.
  • Soup: Ideal for simmering soups.
  • Milk: Gentle heating for milk to prevent boiling over.
  • Keep Warm: Maintains food at a warm temperature.
  • Stir Fry: High heat for quick stir-frying.
  • Veggies: Pre-set for cooking vegetables.

To use a pre-set menu, simply press the corresponding button on the control panel after turning on the cooktop. The cooktop will automatically adjust power and time settings.

4.4 Power and Temperature Adjustment

For manual cooking, use the '+' and '-' buttons to increase or decrease the power level or temperature. The display will show the current setting.

4.5 Timer Function

The cooktop includes a timer function for precise cooking. Press the Timer button and use '+' and '-' to set the desired cooking duration. The cooktop will automatically switch off once the timer expires.

4.6 Keep Warm Function

Activate the Keep Warm function to maintain food at a serving temperature without further cooking.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your induction cooktop.

5.1 Cleaning the Cooktop Surface

  • Always unplug the cooktop and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the glass surface with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent.
  • For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for glass cooktops.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or sharp objects that could scratch the surface.
  • Dry the surface thoroughly with a clean cloth.

5.2 Cleaning the Body

  • Wipe the exterior body with a soft, damp cloth.
