4. Installation (Setup)
This igniter is designed for easy installation. However, due to the nature of gas appliances, professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with appliance repair.
- Safety First: Ensure the gas supply to the appliance is turned off and the appliance is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
- Access the Igniter: Depending on your oven model, you may need to remove the oven door, bottom panel, or other components to access the existing igniter.
- Disconnect Old Igniter: Carefully disconnect the wiring from the old igniter. Note the routing of the wires.
- Remove Old Igniter: Unscrew or unclip the old igniter from its mounting bracket.
- Install New Igniter: Mount the new XSPANDER igniter in the same location and orientation as the old one.
- Connect Wiring: Use the provided ceramic nuts to securely connect the new igniter's wires to the appliance's wiring. Ensure connections are tight and insulated. The igniter features a male pin design for easy connection.
- Reassemble: Reattach any panels or components that were removed.
- Restore Power: Plug the appliance back into the electrical outlet and turn on the gas supply.
- Test: Test the oven's ignition to ensure proper function.

5. Operation
The igniter is a critical component in a gas oven or stove's ignition system. When the oven or stove burner is turned on, the igniter heats up to a high temperature, creating a glow that ignites the gas flowing from the burner. This process ensures safe and efficient operation of your appliance.
The igniter operates on a 120V AC power supply and has a rated current range of 3.4 to 3.6 amps.
