1. Important Safety Information
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this product. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
1.1 General Safety Rules
- Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
1.2 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment when operating the pole chainsaw:
- Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles with side shields.
- Head Protection: A hard hat or safety helmet, especially when working near falling debris.
- Hearing Protection: Earplugs or earmuffs.
- Hand Protection: Heavy-duty work gloves.
- Foot Protection: Steel-toed safety boots with non-slip soles.
- Body Protection: Long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect against cuts and scratches.
1.3 Chainsaw Specific Safety
- Kickback: Be aware of kickback, which can occur when the tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut.
- Proper Grip: Always hold the pole chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Maintain Balance: Ensure stable footing and balance, especially when extending the pole.
- Chain Oil: Ensure the chain oil reservoir is filled before each use.
- Clear Work Area: Clear the area of obstacles and ensure no one is directly below the cutting area.

3.2 Assembling the Pole Chainsaw
The 10 ft. pole folds for easy transport and convenient storage. To assemble for use:
- Unfold the pole sections until they are fully extended and aligned.
- Secure the pole sections by tightening the locking collar. Ensure it is firmly tightened to prevent movement during operation.
- Insert the charged V20 battery into the battery port until it clicks into place.
3.3 Adding Chain Oil
The pole chainsaw features an auto-oiling system. It is crucial to fill the chain oil reservoir before each use to ensure proper lubrication of the bar and chain.
- Place the pole chainsaw on a flat, stable surface with the oil cap facing upwards.
- Unscrew the oil cap.
- Carefully pour high-quality bar and chain oil into the reservoir until it reaches the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.
- Replace the oil cap and tighten it securely.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Pre-Operation Checks
Before each use, perform the following checks:
- Verify the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Check the chain oil level and refill if necessary.
- Inspect the bar and chain for any damage or dullness.
- Ensure all pole sections are securely locked.
- Confirm the work area is clear of people, pets, and obstacles.
4.2 Starting and Stopping
To start the pole chainsaw, press the safety lock-off button and then squeeze the trigger switch. To stop, release the trigger switch.
4.3 Proper Cutting Techniques
The brushless motor provides high-efficiency cutting performance.

Figure 4.1: Demonstrating the high-efficiency brushless motor during operation.
When cutting, position the pole chainsaw so that the chain makes contact with the branch at a slight angle. Allow the saw to do the work; do not force it. The saw is designed for fast cutting, capable of cutting through 2x4 yellow pine in less than 4.5 seconds.
