5.1 Charging the Device

The Hedigon UB0AH Blood Pressure Monitor features a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. Before first use, or when the battery indicator shows low power, charge the device using the provided USB Type-C cable.

  1. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the side of the monitor.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (e.g., phone charger, computer USB port).
  3. The charging indicator on the display will show the charging status. A full charge typically allows for over 100 measurements.

5.2 Initial Settings (Date/Time)

Upon first use or after a prolonged period without power, you may need to set the date and time. Refer to the on-screen prompts or the 'SET' button instructions for specific steps to adjust these settings.

6. Operation: Measuring Blood Pressure

6.1 Preparation Before Measurement

  • Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
  • Avoid eating, drinking caffeine or alcohol, smoking, and exercising for 30 minutes prior to measurement.
  • Ensure you are in a quiet environment.
  • Empty your bladder if necessary.

6.2 Wearing the Cuff Correctly

  1. Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
  2. Place the cuff directly on your bare upper arm, approximately 2-3 cm (0.8-1.2 inches) above your elbow joint. The air tube (if separate, though this is a one-piece design) should run down the inside of your arm.
  3. Ensure the cuff is snug but not too tight. You should be able to insert two fingers between the cuff and your arm.
  4. Rest your arm on a table so that the cuff is at the same level as your heart.

6.3 Starting a Measurement

  1. Once the cuff is correctly positioned and you are in the proper posture, press the 'ST' (Start) button.
  2. The cuff will automatically inflate. Remain still and silent during the measurement.
  3. The measurement will complete in approximately 30 seconds, and your systolic pressure (SYS), diastolic pressure (DIA), and pulse rate (PUL) will be displayed on the LCD screen.

7. Understanding Your Readings

The monitor displays three key values:

  • SYS (Systolic Pressure): The highest pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
  • DIA (Diastolic Pressure): The lowest pressure in your arteries between beats.
  • PUL (Pulse Rate): Your heart rate, or the number of times your heart beats per minute.

The monitor also includes a WHO (World Health Organization) classification indicator, which visually categorizes your blood pressure reading. Consult your doctor for the interpretation of your individual blood pressure values and for any medical advice.

8. Memory Function

The device can store up to 90 measurements for two different users. To access stored readings:

  1. Press the 'MEM' (Memory) button when the device is off or in standby mode.
  2. Each press of the 'MEM' button will cycle through the stored readings, displaying the most recent measurement first.
  3. The display will indicate which user's memory is being viewed (e.g., User 1 or User 2, if applicable).

9. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • Storage: Store the monitor in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Use the provided storage pouch for protection.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the device regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully depleting the battery for extended periods.
