3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to properly install your Zerodis Tower Crane Anemometer.
3.1 Mounting the Wind Cup Sensor
- Select a Suitable Location: Choose a location free from obstructions that could interfere with accurate wind measurement. The sensor should be mounted securely to prevent movement in high winds.
- Attach the Fixed Holder: Use the provided screws and nuts to securely fasten the fixed holder to your chosen mounting surface. Ensure the holder is stable.
- Install the Wind Cup: Carefully attach the wind cup sensor to the fixed holder. The wind cup installation aperture is approximately 4cm (1.6in). Ensure the wind cup rotates freely without obstruction. Note: Securely tighten all screws to prevent the wind cups from detaching, especially in windy conditions.
- Connect the Wind Cup Cable: Route the 8-meter (26.2ft) wind cup cable from the sensor to the main unit. Ensure the cable is protected from damage and secured to prevent tangling.

3.2 Connecting the Main Unit
- Mount the Main Unit: The host unit has mounting apertures of approximately 1.5x3.9cm (0.6x1.5in). Secure the main unit in a convenient and protected location using appropriate fasteners (not included, but the fixed bracket accessories may assist).
- Connect Wind Cup Cable to Main Unit: Plug the wind cup sensor cable into the designated port on the main unit.
- Power Supply: Connect the provided USB cable to the main unit's power input (USB 5V). Connect the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port providing 5V DC.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the anemometer is properly installed and powered on, it will begin to display wind speed data.
4.1 Real-time Display
- The main unit's display window will show the current wind speed in real-time.
- It also indicates the current wind level and the maximum wind level detected.
4.2 Setting Wind Level Alarm
The device allows you to set a specific wind level at which an alarm will trigger, and the power will be cut off to connected equipment for safety.
- Access Settings: Locate the 'SET' or 'Setting' button on the main unit. Press this button to enter the alarm setting mode.
- Adjust Wind Level: Use the adjustment buttons (often indicated by arrows or '+' / '-') to increase or decrease the desired alarm wind level. The setting range is typically 2-12 levels, adjustable sequentially at 0.5 level increments.
- Confirm Setting: Once the desired wind level is set, press the 'SET' button again to confirm and save your selection. The device has a power failure memory function, so your settings will be retained even if power is lost.
- Alarm Activation: When the measured wind level reaches or exceeds the set alarm level, the device will activate an alarm and cut off power to the connected equipment, ensuring safety.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accurate operation of your Zerodis Tower Crane Anemometer, regular maintenance is recommended.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the wind cups and the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the materials.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the wind cup sensor for any obstructions (e.g., debris, ice) that might hinder its rotation. Check all cables and connections for signs of wear or damage.
- Mounting Security: Verify that the wind cup sensor and main unit remain securely mounted, especially after periods of high wind or adverse weather conditions. Tighten any loose screws or fasteners.
- Environmental Considerations: While designed for outdoor use, extreme weather conditions (e.g., severe icing, prolonged heavy rain) may temporarily affect performance. Ensure the main unit is protected from direct heavy precipitation if possible.
6. Troubleshooting

- No Display/Power:
- Ensure the USB power cable is securely connected to both the main unit and a functional 5V USB power source.
- Check the USB cable for any damage. Try a different USB cable or power adapter if available.
- Inaccurate Wind Readings or No Wind Speed Display:
- Verify that the wind cup sensor is rotating freely and is not obstructed by debris or ice.
- Check the connection of the wind cup cable to the main unit. Ensure it is firmly plugged in.
- Confirm the wind cup sensor is securely attached to its mounting bracket. Loose components can affect readings.
- Wind Cups Detaching:
- This is a critical safety concern. Ensure all set screws and fasteners holding the wind cups to the central shaft and the sensor to the mounting bracket are tightened securely during installation. Regular checks are recommended.
- If cups repeatedly detach, inspect the mounting mechanism for wear or damage and consider reinforcing the attachment points.
- Alarm Not Triggering or Triggering Incorrectly:
