3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge your camera's internal battery.

1. Locate the USB-C charging port on the side of the camera.
2. Connect the camera to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port using the provided USB-C cable.
3. The battery indicator LED will illuminate to show charging status. A solid green light indicates a full charge.

3.2 Loading Film

The Polaroid Now 3rd Generation camera is compatible with Polaroid i-Type and 600 film.

1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
2. Press the film door latch to open the film compartment.
3. Insert a new pack of Polaroid i-Type or 600 film into the compartment. Ensure the darkslide (the black protective sheet) is facing upwards.
4. Close the film door firmly. The darkslide will automatically eject from the film slot. Do not pull the darkslide manually.
5. The film counter display on the back of the camera will show '8' (for a full pack of 8 photos).

4. Operating the Camera

4.1 Taking a Photo

1. Power on the camera by pressing the power button.
2. Look through the viewfinder to frame your shot.
3. Press the red shutter button to take the picture.
4. The photo will eject from the front slot. Immediately place the photo face down on a flat surface or in a dark place to protect it from light during development. Do not bend or shake the photo.

4.2 Using the Flash

The camera features an automatic flash. Press the flash button (lightning bolt icon) on the back of the camera to toggle the flash on or off. It is recommended to use the flash in low-light conditions or indoors for optimal results.

4.3 Self-Timer Mode

For group shots or self-portraits, use the self-timer function:

1. Press the self-timer button once. The small LED next to the button will blink.
2. Position the camera and yourself within the frame.
3. The shutter will release after approximately 9 seconds.

4.4 Double Exposure Mode

Create unique artistic images by combining two photos onto a single piece of film:

1. Press the self-timer button twice. The small LED will blink twice.
2. Take your first photo. The camera will wait for the second exposure.
3. Take your second photo. Both images will be layered onto one film, which will then eject.

5.1 Cleaning the Camera

• Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the camera. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
• For the lens, use a microfiber lens cleaning cloth. Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
• Keep the film rollers clean to prevent marks on your photos. Refer to the Polaroid support website for detailed roller cleaning instructions.

5.2 Film Storage

• Store unused film packs in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration is recommended for optimal film longevity, but allow film to reach room temperature before use.
• Always check the expiration date on the film packaging.

6. Troubleshooting

• Photos are too dark: Ensure adequate lighting. Use the flash indoors or in dimly lit environments. For outdoor shots, avoid shooting directly into bright light sources.
• Photos are blurry: Hold the camera steady when pressing the shutter button. Ensure your subject is within the camera's optimal focus range (approximately 0.5m to infinity).
• Film not ejecting: Check if the battery is sufficiently charged. Ensure the film pack is correctly inserted with the darkslide facing up. If a darkslide or photo is stuck, gently open the film door and carefully remove the obstruction, then close the door.
• Film development issues (streaks, uneven colors): Protect ejected photos from light immediately. Do not bend, shake, or expose the developing photo to extreme temperatures. Ensure film rollers are clean.
• Camera not turning on: Charge the battery fully using the USB-C cable. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
