Operating Instructions

To use your TREBLEET SSD enclosure:

  1. Connect one end of the provided 80Gbps USB-C cable to the TB5 Data Transmission Interface (80Gbps) on the enclosure.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible port on your computer (Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, or USB4).
  3. For high-capacity NVMe drives (8TB or larger) or when experiencing insufficient power issues, connect a power adapter (not included) to the Auxiliary Power Supply Interface (PD Power Port) on the enclosure. This ensures stable data transmission.
  4. For Windows operating systems, ensure "Disk Write Caching" is enabled to achieve maximum write performance. This setting can typically be found in Device Manager under the disk drive properties.

Figure 3: System compatibility details for Mac and PC operating systems, including required Thunderbolt/USB4 versions and macOS/Windows versions.

Note: PC, Chromebook, and Surface devices require a Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 5, or USB4 interface for proper operation. Actual read and write speeds may vary based on SSD capacity, operating system, host device, and other environmental factors.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your enclosure:

  • Keep the enclosure clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure the cooling fan vents are not obstructed to allow for proper heat dissipation. The built-in silent turbo cooling fan is designed to maintain optimal operating temperatures and prevent thermal throttling.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TREBLEET SSD enclosure, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Enclosure not recognized by computer
  • Ensure the 80Gbps cable is securely connected to both the enclosure and a compatible Thunderbolt 5/4/3 or USB4 port on your computer.
  • Verify your computer meets the minimum system requirements (e.g., macOS 14.4+ for Mac, Windows 10/11 with Thunderbolt 4/5 or USB4 for PC).
  • Try connecting to a different port or computer to rule out port issues.
  • Ensure the M.2 NVMe SSD is correctly installed and seated in the enclosure's socket.
Slow data transfer speeds
  • Confirm your host device (computer) supports Thunderbolt 5/4 or USB4 for optimal speeds.
  • For Windows OS, ensure "Disk Write Caching" is enabled.
  • Verify the M.2 NVMe SSD itself is capable of high speeds (e.g., PCIe Gen 4x4).
  • Ensure you are using the provided 80Gbps cable.
  • Close other applications that might be consuming system resources or disk I/O.
Insufficient power for high-capacity drives
  • Connect an external power adapter (not included) to the Auxiliary PD Power Port on the enclosure. This is especially important for 8TB or larger NVMe drives.
Enclosure becomes warm during operation
  • This is normal for high-speed SSDs and enclosures. The aluminum shell and built-in turbo cooling fan are designed to dissipate heat efficiently.
  • Ensure the fan vents are not blocked.
Product not compatible with "M.2 NVMe key to PCIe adapter"
  • This enclosure is designed specifically for M.2 NVMe SSDs and is not compatible with adapters that convert M.2 NVMe keys to PCIe devices.
