Product Overview
The GIDIGI 4-in-1 Digital pH Meter features a robust design with an integrated probe and a clear color display. Key components include:
- Display Screen: Shows pH, EC/TDS (PPM), and temperature readings.
- ON/OFF/RESET Button: Powers the device on or off, and resets settings.
- MODE/CAL Button: Switches between measurement modes (e.g., EC/TDS) and initiates calibration.
- HOLD/TEMP Button: Freezes the current reading on the display or switches temperature units.
- Probe: The sensing element for water quality measurements.
- Battery Compartment: Located at the top, houses AAA batteries.

Setup
- Battery Installation: The device comes with 4 AAA batteries pre-installed. If replacement is needed, open the battery compartment at the top and insert 4 new AAA batteries, observing polarity.
- Initial Power On: Press the "ON/OFF/RESET" button to power on the device. The color display will illuminate.
- Rinse Probe: Before first use and after each use, rinse the probe with distilled water and gently blot dry with a clean tissue. Do not rub the probe.
Calibration
pH Calibration
Accurate pH measurement requires regular calibration. The device supports 3-point calibration (4.00pH, 7.00pH, 10.01pH).
- Prepare Solutions: Use the provided pH buffer solutions (4.00pH, 7.00pH, 10.01pH). Ensure they are at room temperature.
- Clean Probe: Rinse the probe with distilled water and dry it.
- Start Calibration: Power on the meter. Press and hold the "MODE/CAL" button until "CAL" appears on the display.
- Calibrate 7.00pH: Immerse the probe into the 7.00pH buffer solution. The meter will automatically recognize the solution and calibrate. Wait for the reading to stabilize and for the calibration indicator to confirm.
- Calibrate 4.00pH: Rinse the probe with distilled water and dry it. Immerse the probe into the 4.00pH buffer solution. The meter will automatically recognize and calibrate.
- Calibrate 10.01pH (Optional): Rinse the probe with distilled water and dry it. Immerse the probe into the 10.01pH buffer solution. The meter will automatically recognize and calibrate.
- Finish Calibration: Once all desired points are calibrated, the meter will return to measurement mode.
Note: The included pH calibration powders can be used to prepare fresh buffer solutions if needed. Follow the instructions on the powder packets for preparation.
EC/TDS Calibration
The EC/TDS functions are pre-calibrated by the manufacturer and generally do not require user calibration. If you suspect inaccuracies, contact customer support.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Press the "ON/OFF/RESET" button to turn on the meter.
- Rinse Probe: Rinse the probe with distilled water and gently dry it.
- Immerse Probe: Dip the probe into the water solution you wish to test. Ensure the probe is fully submerged but do not submerge the entire meter.
- Read Measurements: The display will show pH, EC/TDS (PPM), and temperature readings simultaneously. Allow a few seconds for the readings to stabilize.
- Switch Modes (EC/TDS): If the display shows EC and you prefer TDS (PPM), or vice-versa, briefly press the "MODE/CAL" button to toggle between them.
- Hold Reading: To freeze the current reading on the display, press the "HOLD/TEMP" button. Press it again to release.
- Change Temperature Unit: While in measurement mode, press and hold the "HOLD/TEMP" button to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
- Power Off: After use, rinse the probe, dry it, and press the "ON/OFF/RESET" button to turn off the meter.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Probe: Always rinse the probe with distilled water after each use to prevent contamination and ensure accurate readings. Gently blot dry; do not wipe vigorously.
- Storage: Store the meter in a cool, dry place. Ensure the probe is clean and dry before storage. For prolonged storage, it is recommended to keep the pH electrode moist by storing it in a small amount of pH storage solution or 7.00pH buffer solution. Do not store dry.
- Battery Replacement: Replace AAA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- Calibration: Calibrate the pH function regularly, especially if readings become inconsistent or after prolonged storage.
Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the probe is clean.
- Recalibrate the pH function.
- Check battery level.
- Ensure the probe is fully submerged in the sample.
- Display Not Working:
- Check battery installation and replace if necessary.
- Press the "ON/OFF/RESET" button firmly.
- "CAL" Error During Calibration:
- Ensure the correct buffer solution is used for the calibration point.
- Verify buffer solutions are not expired or contaminated.
- Clean the probe thoroughly.
