Maintenance
Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the remote's responsiveness decreases or the backlight dims significantly. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA 1.5V batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
Cleaning
To clean the remote control, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.
Storage
When storing the remote for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which can cause damage. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity (+/-).
- Replace old batteries with new AAA 1.5V batteries.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV's infrared receiver.
- Verify that your TV model is listed as compatible in the "Product Overview" section. Remember, it is not compatible with Pioneer or Element TVs with integrated Xumo.
- Backlight not working or staying on/off:
- Check battery levels. Low batteries may affect backlight performance.
- Try manually toggling the backlight by pressing and holding the Red Power button for 6 seconds.
- Specific buttons not working:
- Ensure the remote is pointed directly at the TV.
- Clean the remote's surface, especially around the unresponsive buttons, to remove any debris.
