Setup Guide
1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the package contents are present and undamaged. The package should include the NIVIAN camera and its power adapter.
2. Powering On the Camera
Connect the power adapter to the camera's power input port and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The camera will initiate its startup sequence, which may include a self-test rotation and an indicator light changing status.
3. App Installation and Account Creation
Download the Tuya Smart or SmartLife app from your mobile device's app store (available for iOS and Android). Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account or log in if you already have one.
4. Adding the Camera to the App
- In the Tuya Smart app, tap the "+" icon (usually in the top right corner) to add a new device.
- Select "Security & Video Surveillance" and then choose "Smart Camera" or "IP Camera (Wi-Fi)".
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. The camera does not support 5GHz WiFi.
- Follow the app's prompts to reset the camera (if necessary) until the indicator light flashes rapidly, indicating it's ready for pairing.
- Enter your WiFi network password when prompted.
- The app will generate a QR code. Hold your phone with the QR code approximately 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in front of the camera lens until you hear a confirmation sound from the camera.
- Once connected, the camera's indicator light will turn solid, and you will see the camera added to your device list in the app.
- You can then name your camera and begin live viewing.
5. Mounting the Camera
The NIVIAN camera is designed for ceiling mounting. Use the included mounting bracket and screws to securely attach the camera to a suitable surface. Ensure the mounting location provides a clear field of view and is within range of your WiFi network.
Operating Instructions
Live View and Remote Control
Open the Tuya Smart app and select your camera from the device list to access the live view. From this screen, you can:
- Pan/Tilt: Use the directional controls on the app interface to rotate the camera horizontally (355°).
- Two-Way Audio: Tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera or the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's location.
- Record Video/Take Photos: Use the record and snapshot buttons to capture video clips or still images.
- Playback: Access recorded footage from your microSD card (if installed) or cloud storage (subscription required).
Motion Detection and Alerts
Configure motion detection settings in the app to receive instant alerts on your mobile device when movement is detected. You can adjust sensitivity levels and set detection zones to minimize false alarms. The AI detection feature helps distinguish between people and other movements.
Night Vision Modes
The camera automatically switches to night vision in low light. You can manually select between infrared (black and white) and full-color night vision modes within the app settings, depending on your preference and lighting conditions.
Automatic Tracking
Enable the automatic tracking feature in the app settings. When a person or object moves within the camera's field of view, the camera will automatically pan to follow their movement.
Storage Options
The camera supports local storage via a microSD card (up to 128GB, not included) for continuous or event-triggered recording. Cloud storage is also available through a Tuya Cloud subscription for secure, remote access to your recordings.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
