Model: ZX0901 item 30T

1. Safety Instructions

Read and understand all instructions and safety warnings before operating this hydraulic shop press. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear when operating the press.
  • Work Area: Ensure the work area is clean, well-lit, and free from obstructions. The press must be placed on a stable, level, and non-slip surface capable of supporting its weight and the maximum load.
  • Load Capacity: Do not exceed the rated 30-ton load capacity of the press. Overloading can cause structural failure and severe injury.
  • Workpiece Stability: Always ensure the workpiece is securely positioned on the press plates and is stable before applying pressure. Use appropriate fixtures if necessary.
  • Cylinder Stroke Limit: The cylinder stroke is 4.9 inches (125 mm). Do not exceed this limit, as it may cause damage to the cylinder seals and lead to hydraulic fluid leakage or failure.
  • Overpressure Relief Valve: This press is equipped with a security regulator valve to prevent overloading. Do not tamper with or bypass this safety feature.
  • Clearance: Keep hands, feet, and other body parts clear of the pressing area during operation.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect the press for any signs of damage, wear, or loose components. Do not operate a damaged press.
  • Children and Bystanders: Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the operating area.

3. Setup and Assembly

The VEVOR 30T Hydraulic Shop Press requires assembly. Follow the manufacturer's assembly instructions provided with the product packaging. Ensure all components are present and undamaged before beginning assembly.

General Assembly Steps (Refer to your specific assembly manual for detailed diagrams):

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify against the parts list in your manual.
  2. Assemble Base: Attach the triangular support bases to the vertical H-frame columns using the provided hardware. Ensure all bolts are securely tightened.
  3. Install Crossbeams: Secure the top and bottom crossbeams to the H-frame columns.
  4. Mount Hydraulic Cylinder and Pump: Attach the hydraulic cylinder to the top crossbeam and the pneumatic assist pump to the side of the frame. Connect the hydraulic hose and pneumatic line as instructed.
  5. Install Worktable: Insert the worktable into the H-frame columns at the desired height using the quick-adjust pins.
  6. Attach Pressure Gauge: Connect the pressure gauge to the hydraulic cylinder assembly.
  7. Final Checks: Double-check all bolts and connections for tightness. Ensure the press is stable and level.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Preparation

  • Ensure the press is on a stable, level surface.
  • Clear the work area of any unnecessary tools or debris.
  • Wear all required PPE.
  • Close the release valve on the hydraulic pump by turning it clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.

4.2. Adjusting Worktable Height

  1. Remove the quick-adjust pins from the H-frame columns.
  2. Carefully raise or lower the worktable to the desired height. Ensure both sides are adjusted evenly.
  3. Reinsert the quick-adjust pins securely through the H-frame columns and the worktable.

4.3. Positioning Workpiece

  1. Place the movable press plates on the worktable.
  2. Center the workpiece on the press plates directly under the hydraulic ram. Ensure it is stable and will not shift during pressing.

4.4. Applying Pressure (Hydraulic Operation)

  1. With the release valve closed, begin pumping the handle of the hydraulic pump.
  2. Observe the pressure gauge to monitor the applied force. Do not exceed 30 tons.
  3. Apply pressure gradually and evenly.

4.5. Applying Pressure (Pneumatic Assist Operation)

  1. Connect an air compressor to the pneumatic assist pump's inlet.
  2. With the release valve closed, activate the pneumatic assist. This will rapidly extend the ram.
  3. Monitor the pressure gauge. If additional force is needed beyond what the pneumatic assist provides, use the manual hydraulic pump handle.

4.6. Releasing Pressure

  1. Slowly turn the release valve counter-clockwise to retract the hydraulic ram.
  2. Allow the ram to retract completely before removing the workpiece.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your VEVOR Hydraulic Shop Press.

  • Daily Inspection: Before each use, inspect the press for any visible damage, loose bolts, hydraulic fluid leaks, or signs of wear on the frame, ram, and pump.
  • Cleaning: Keep the press clean and free of dirt, grease, and debris. Wipe down surfaces with a clean cloth.
  • Hydraulic Fluid: Check the hydraulic fluid level periodically. If replenishment is needed, use Hydraulic Oil Model 15#. Refer to your specific product manual for the exact procedure for checking and refilling hydraulic fluid.
  • Lubrication: Lubricate moving parts and pivot points as recommended in your product manual.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the press in a dry, clean, and secure location, protected from extreme temperatures and moisture.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your hydraulic shop press.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Press does not hold pressure.Release valve not fully closed; internal leak in pump/cylinder; low hydraulic fluid.Ensure release valve is fully closed. Check hydraulic fluid level and refill if necessary. Contact VEVOR support if issue persists.
Ram does not extend or extends slowly.Low hydraulic fluid; air in hydraulic system; release valve partially open.Check hydraulic fluid level. Bleed air from the system (refer to your product manual). Ensure release valve is fully closed.
Pneumatic assist not working. No air supply; low air pressure; pneumatic line blockage.Ensure air compressor is connected and operating. Check air pressure. Inspect pneumatic lines for kinks or blockages.
Frame wobbles during operation.Uneven surface; loose assembly bolts.Ensure press is on a level, stable surface. Tighten all assembly bolts, especially those on the base and frame.
